Why do we accept asylum seekers into our country?

Do we not realise that doing this creates permanent problems for our nations, undermines national cohesion and unity, and threatens the living standards for our future generations of children?

Why do we not contract out with some other third world country, and pay them to accept our share of asylum seekers? Most of these asylum seekers are primarily motivated by economic considerations, rather than genuine fear of persecution. It would be far cheaper for our country to provide them with health treatment, housing, and education in another country with a much lower cost of living.

There are other ways to provide assistance, and guarantee safety, to people in conflict-torn countries that do not involve granting them residence permits to our own countries. For example, as soon as a potential asylum seeker has his application accepted, our government could offer him 40000 euros a year to optionally forfeit the offer, and just stay in his own country. This would be far cheaper than what it would cost to educate his children and provide him with benefits. And I suspect that this would greatly reduce the number of migrants.

It would be far cheaper, and more effective, in most situations, to just help people in their own countries, rather than bringing them to our countries where everything is more expensive, and where they will have difficulty integrating into our western culture. We could also greatly reduce our crime rates, since a very disproportionate number of violent crimes are comitted by migrants or first generation children of migrants.

According to a spokesman on Daily Politics yesterday, the latest net immigration figure into the UK is actually twice the number given in the government's statistics . . .

"Net migration up to 298,000 as Conservative target missed". The significant passage in the link is this:

"Given all that you might imagine there should be a good deal of weeping and wailing inside Number 10. And yet curiously there isn't. Why not?"

'Why not' indeed. Something is going on and it doesn't smell good.
