Sooooo, is your point that rich people shouldn't have such a big influence on our political system or that the rich who do serve are truly patriotic when they propose progressive legislation that helps other people besides themselves.

Which is it? I agree with both.

Conservatives hate the "job creators" because they are jealous of their success and want to punish "job creators'" success and redistribute their wealth!

Im not quite sure I understand the significance of this thread.

How do those 7 Democrats vote? That should be the story. Not just their wealth. Do they vote to help the less fortunate? Or do they vote to support big business and the wealthy?

As far as inheritance goes......Paris Hilton is a Republican. The Hilton family are proud Republican donors.

Its what you do with your inheritance that matters. I am a Liberal but im still a Capitalist. I simply believe in a small touch of "Socialism" to make things more fair. Some people SHOULD be more wealthy than others. I want my doctor to be wealthy, I dont need him stressing about making rent while he is operating on me lol. If Millions of people want to pay their hard earned money to go see a Brad Pitt movie, and he provides those millions with entertainment then by all means he should be a multi millionaire. I support this.

But if someone makes 5 million dollars a year, is it really gonna hurt them if they only make 2.5 Million? That 2.5 Million can go to helping build our roads, pay police officers, pay our military, and provide assistance to those living in poverty who caught a bad break. Maybe they got laid off and the factory in their small town closed down and they just dont have the money to move to another town that has jobs. I think as a society we should support those people (not people who have been on welfare for over a year, swallow your pride and go work at McDonalds until you can find a better job) but if people need help for 3-4 Months while trying to find another job....I am happy to have my tax dollars help that person out.

Anyways thats a bit off topic and I apologize for that. But essentially its how they vote that should matter.
