I mean really, its ridiculous these kids supposedly have college degrees and yet they couldn't pass a simple High school civics course I'm willing to wager.

Lets look at one demand that seems to be universal to the entire movement:

    "Reverse Citizens United"

Sounds simple. But how are we supposed to do that? Hold a gun to the Supreme Court's head and say "reverse your decision".

It just doesn't work that way.

The moment the judges rendered their verdict, it became Constitutional Precedent, which means it can't just "be reversed" it requires a Constitutional Amendment. Not an act of Congress, but a full blown Constitutional Amendment.

So why aren't these kids aware of this very simple fact that an 8th grader should know?

Lets take another demand often heard from the protestors:

"Arrest, try and convict the people responsible for the meltdown of 2008"

    Okay, sounds pretty simple right?

The problem is that none of those people actually broke any laws, which means we would have to create laws out of thin air, and then arrest and try these people "ex post facto". This is a direct violation of the Constitution as well.

Why don't these college educated kids know this?

A judge's decision can be reversed through a constitutional amendment.

And the banks did break laws. They committed fraud. They sold risky loans to investors and bundled them in with safe loans to make them look like a safe bundle. Then they bet against the loans. At the very least it's grounds for a class action law suit.

    lol...

I (a college student) gave two perfectly reasonable answers and was completely skipped over to call college students all stoners.

You're confusing college students with high school drop outs.

College students are the ones who spend 16 hours a week in class, 32 hours a week studying and 15 hours a week working a job.

Firstly what you see in these college kids, is the result of liberalism. Plain and simple.

Because the liberals infesting our schools today hate such things as the Founders, our Constitution the bill of rights etc....so they simply don't teach these kids about the Constitutional process anymore. In some schools they don't even teach about the revolutionary war era whatsoever in their history curriculum.

Don't take this personally Silicon because I don't mean you, but it's sort of um lets just say disturbing that some today, walk around wondering why these idiot leech's we call OWS don't know their head from their ass when it comes to the Constitution or Constitutional process. Given they as citizens and parents have sat idly by, and allowed some schools to not even cover such topics in their curriculum anymore

So none of you want to actually respond to the college student? I just proved the OP wrong and displayed how both of his points are wrong. Who's ignorant again? Maybe you all should go back to college.

College students can spend all the time in the world in class, or studying, that's irrelevant if they're not being taught the right subject matter.

Secondly, please tell us all how these ows leech's are in class for 16 hours a week, studying for 32 hours a week and spending 15 hours working a job, as well as "occupying" and allegedly "protesting" all the while at the same time destroying private property?

Oh that's right, they aren't, we just threw these numbers about working a job, study and time spent in class out of our ass because we have no problem lying in order to support the ows cause.

It's not illegal if you are backed by corrupt politicans who make sure that the laws are rigged with enough loopholes to let it pass.

Again. You'd rather bash college students than debate the facts. I proved the OP wrong. You there are legal paths for both the claims the OP claimed was legally impossible and therefore made college kids ignorant.

I see you're no better educated than the rest of them. Those risky loans you mentioned. They were mandated and guaranteed by the government. Mixing them with reasonable loans was reasonable. Why should one investor get all the bad government paper and a promise.

The government routinely commits fraud but it isn't illegal. The banks did not commit fraud. Had they done so the socialists in the current administration would have had them shot.

You've proven nothing, Tao. You'd rather bash banks without cause than deal with the issue. Oh, wait, you're part of the 99%. I wonder what that's the 99% of? Clearly not of the people. Oh, wait, they learned "new" math, didn't they? Never mind.

So, why are students ignorant of the Constitution? It's not longer taught in junior high and/or high school and certainly not in college. They rant about "free speech" and aren't aware of what the First Amendment says. Pitiful.

No I've just been away from the thread. You obviously didn't read my OP at all because your first response

"A constitutional amendment" was already stated in my OP. You basically just repeated what I said in the thread.

and the 2nd one, about a class action lawsuit would be the defining moment of "frivolity". Why isn' the ACLU up there filing the papers in Federal Court? They have no problems suing innocent Amreican villages in the middle of nowhere Appalachia to force them to remove some religious item that some liberal idiot passing through happened to see from the road, but they can't sue on behalf of the 99%?

Because listening to them talk it is as plain as the day. They simply wouldn't say such stupid (*)(*)(*)(*) if they were aware of Constitutional Precedent.

Much like the way the fact you are heavily financially and emotionally invested in OPEC which gives you motivation to diss the XL pipeline.

How many of the OWs have you heard speak?

OPEC? They are trying to prop up the US currency by increasing production when we need it.. Read the OPEC mission .. look at their track record and undestand "just in time inventory".

I am not "dissing Keystone XL".. I question transporting Canadian sludge oil 1700 miles to the Saudi owned Motiva facilities.

All one has to do is youtube "Occupy Wall Street" and hundreds, possibly thousands of gems(turds) float to the surface.

I know what OPEC does and how important they are, but the problem is the world in that region is becoming politically and socially unstable to the point that we can no longer rely on them for anything except oil and war.

The American People want away from OPEC by any means necessary, and since it'll be 20-30 years at least before most Americans can be forced to drive battery powered nerdmobiles, we have to come up with ways to get off OPEC oil as much as possible.

The Saud Dynasty won't last long. I think after the old King goes, that'll be it the people will rise up and demand an anti-US Government take the place of the old King. I am fairly certain his Heir Apparent isn't going to inherit the throne.

You mean Crown Prince Naif? The Succession will be seamless when the time comes. If Nayif gets sick, Prince Salman will take the reigns and he is very able and very pro-American.

The Saudis are largely pro-America. They consider the US good customers, good partners.. and they are heavily invested in the US economy.

Oh yeah, I bet they are just distraught over the fraud committed against those who invest in Mortgage backed securities. I have no sympathy for those who invested in mortgage backed securities and lost their shirts. Bankers and Wallstreet were among the biggest investors.

    It isn't about getting sick.

The King will die, the people will rise up in a coup and probably murder or chase out the royal family just like Mubarak, Qaddaffi and soon to be Assad. There won't be a succession. The people don't want to be ruled by pro-western kings. They want "democracy" based on Shariah law and anti-western hatred.

Not very likely.. Are you under the impression that Saudi Arabia is an absolute Monarchy in the old European sense?

The Saudis are enjoying their progress and opportunities.. For instance, they are currently building 33 new hospitals.

They won't throw the baby out with the bath water and descend into chaos and poverty.

Saudi leadership is NOTHING like Khadafi or Mubarak.

If I were to guess, their rate of college education among the OWS folks is a fraction of the general population.

    To paraphrase Reagan...

"Well, the trouble with leftist lambs is not that they're ignorant; it's just that they've been indocrinated by their collectivist herders to believe so much that isn't so."

The Saudis???????? Probably more anti American sentiment among the saudi people than there is in the average Muslim country. Most of the Hijackers on 9/11 were Saudi. Saudi is the birthplace and pimary advocate of wahabbi Islam that motivates this worldwide campaign of Islamic terrorism.

Prince Ahmed bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz, Prince Fahd bin Turki bin Saud al-Kabira and Prince Sultan bin Faisal bin Turki al-Saud, were probably involved in 9/11. Very anti American.
