Fox News viewers are less informed than people who don't watch any news, according to a new poll from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

The poll surveyed New Jersey residents about the uprisings in Egypt and the Middle East, and where they get their news sources. The study, which controlled for demographic factors like education and partisanship, found that "people who watch Fox News are 18-points less likely to know that Egyptians overthrew their government" and "6-points less likely to know that Syrians have not yet overthrown their government" compared to those who watch no news.

Overall, 53% of all respondents knew that Egyptians successfully overthrew Hosni Mubarak and 48% knew that Syrians have yet to overthrow their government.

Dan Cassino, a political science professor at Fairleigh Dickinson, explained in a statement, "Because of the controls for partisanship, we know these results are not just driven by Republicans or other groups being more likely to watch Fox News. Rather, the results show us that there is something about watching Fox News that leads people to do worse on these questions than those who don’t watch any news at all."

This isn't the first study that has found that Fox News viewers more misinformed in comparison to others. Last year, a study from the University of Maryland found that Fox News viewers were more likely to believe false information about politics.

That's a bunch of crap. Fox covers those stories just like any other news station. Just one more assault on Fox to get people not to watch it.

"CAIRO – Egypt's state television says the Cabinet has submitted its resignation to the ruling military council but will stay on to run the nation's day-to-day affairs until a decision is made.

The resignation of the Cabinet on Monday came amid widening protests against the ruling military. Protesters are demanding that the military quickly announce a date for the handover of power to a civilian government. At least 24 protesters have been killed in the past three days.

You mean incredibly poorly? I will agree though, Fox is no worse than any other corporate media outlet!! They all have the same agenda, and that is to promote the absurd theater of the partisan illusion!! They make people believe there are fundamental differences between our 2 major parties, when the reality is they serve the exact same interests!!

LOL, I never heard that one.

Big shock that a liberal rag like HuffPo doesn't want people to watch FOX News, the only mainstream conservative source (and the top rated). Every news channel should be liberal. That's how it would be in liberal utopia, after all. We can't have any dissenting voices, now can we?

There are currently 0 liberal news sources. Only mindless sheep believe that gibberish!! The CORPORATE MEDIA has absolutely NO incentive to promote a left-wing agenda, because a left-wing agenda is not as conducive to their interests, and the interests of their sponsors. The idea that a corporation would promote a left-wing agenda is idiotic beyond imagination, but then again the "right wing media" is very good at brainwashing unthinking rubes into believing lies and convincing them to work in direct opposition of their own best interests!!

The station of Bill O'reily, Saun Hannity, Sara Palin, Ron Paul and Glen Beck with his mad conservative conspiracy theories.

The station is a propoganda machine that keeps its listeners brainwashed.

Maybe the problem isn't the messenger, maybe its the people receiving the message. Thats an even BIGGER revelation, though not surprising.

I am not a member of any party. The Democratic party is equally as bad as the Republican party. What party am I partisan towards exactly? I am not a socialist, not a democrat, not a green party member, etc. Where does the partisanship come from? This is just another nonsensical attempt to distract from the reality that the entire right and left wing media spiel is nonsense. There is no left-wing media, nor does Fox News represent the interests of people who call themselves conservatives. While Fox is certainly right wing, they care only about profit margins for themselves and their sponsors, nothing else(what else does any corporation care about?). The mainstream media cares to promote left-wing agenda, about as much as NATO actually cares about the freedom and liberty of the Libyan people!!

No, they are shils for the Democratic party. That has nothing to do with being left-wing!!

PS. A conspiracy implies shady backdoor deals, and premeditation. My analysis involves intelligently analyzing incentives, something you seem uninterested in. Please explain to me what incentive GE and Comcast(the owners of NBC), have in promoting a left-wing agenda that is less favorable to their interests than a right wing agenda? What incentives does Disney(the owner of ABC) have? Viacom? Newscorp? Time Warner?

A "study" to prove Faux Noise viewers are a bunch of idiots? What's next? Study to determine Rush Lintball is a fat drug addict?

I know there is nothing I can say to someone so out of touch with reality as to make such an increadibly blatant falsehood to put it nicely. I know you really don't believe even yourself what you stated, because really, come on, nobody is that void of reality (again to put it nicely).

Alright, I can't resist...that is the stupidest thing I have ever heard anyone say.

You need to read some of this:

It is no problem, your opinion of my intelligence couldn't be much less important to me. I want you to stop with the nonsensical stupidity, stop with the ad hominem, stop with the irrational red herrings, and address the direct question I raised!! What incentive does a large multinational corporation have to promote a left-wing agenda that is less favorable to their interests?

PS. I don't care to see any more sources, which show some news outlets are shills for one party or another, I know that. It is all part of the theater. I want you to answer my question.
