Attawapiskat First Nation declared a State of Emergency and nobody came.

MP Charlie Angus broke the story to the media, airing out the government's dirty laundry.

Now, the government is trying to cover its ass by announcing a First Nations summit.

This, in my view, is too little too late.

What a bunch of cry-babies. I watched the video, I saw pickup trucks, even a bull-dozer, but not one of them can be bothered to start the (*)(*)(*)(*) thing and put in some sewage pipe so they don't have to dump their feces in the ditch? Gimme a freaking break.

If anything even vaguely close to $90 million has already been spent then there are problems.

    http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/story/2011/11/29/attawapiskat-tuesday.html

Harper said the government has spent "some $90 million since coming to office just on Attawapiskat.

"That's over $50,000 for every man, woman and child in the community," he said during question period. "Obviously we're not very happy that the results do not seem to have been achieved for that. We're concerned about that, we have officials looking into it and taking action

Maybe they should take some of that money and feed their freakin' starving dogs. Every time they show the community on the news there are several dogs running around that look like they've never had a decent meal.

The Gov has given $90 Million in the past 5 years. And they are determined to find out how it was WASTED before they give a single cent more! That works out to $50 000 for every man, woman, and child.

90 million doesn't go very far when you're running a community, schools, roads, housing healthcare, administration...it sounds like a lot but it goes very fast particularly in a northern community, transportation of everything to an isolated community multiples the cost of every service and commodity...and that's the price we need to pay and probably much more, it's the legal agreement we made with the indigenous people when they surrendered their claims to the land, a deal that's been an incredibly lucrative one for Canada...
