It's wonderfully ironic that the fake Fast and Furious controversy, ginned up by Fox and the Rightwing Noise Machine, and adroitly handled by Holder by showing it was a Bush-era fiasco, has emboldened antigun activists and resulted in renewed forceful calls for more gun regulation at the borders.

In short the entire conservative meme has backfired.

Let's hope the Fast N' Furious nonstory in fact results in stricter regulations on straw sells and end to the conservative-protected selling of guns to Mexican drug lords along the border.

    Get all the irony here:

It's hilarious how libs want to blame Fast and Furious on Bush. Not surprising, they try to blame Bush for all of Obama's failures.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Fast_and_Furious

Holder himself considers this to be "President Obama's Watergate." Not Bush's Watergate.

Was Bush president in 2009? No?

    Thread fail.

Just one of several anchors to be hung around Obama's neck heading into the general election.

"Blame Bush" has no traction on this. "Blame Obama" is the truth, and the truth will kick that jackass out of the WH.

Thread fail. What a shock !! :omg:

The best way to fight crime is to remove the Democrats from power.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Gunrunner

"The ATF began Project Gunrunner as a pilot project in Laredo, Texas, in 2005 and expanded it as a national initiative in 2006. Project Gunrunner is also part of the Department of Justice’s broader Southwest Border Initiative, which seeks to reduce cross-border drug and firearms trafficking and the high level of violence associated with these activities on both sides of the border.[4]

ATF has determined that the Mexican cartels have become the leading gun trafficking organizations operating in the southwest U.S. and is working in collaboration with other agencies and the Government of Mexico to expand the eTrace firearm tracing software system.[5] eTrace provides web based access to ATF’s Firearms Tracing System to allow law enforcement both domestically and internationally the ability to trace firearms encountered in connection with a criminal investigation to the first recorded purchaser[6][7][8] - who may have innocently sold the gun years ago. eTrace allows law enforcement to access their trace results directly (name and address of first purchaser) and offers the ability to generate statistical reports to analyze their trace data to estimate firearms trafficking trends or patterns."

Nice try. Giving guns to Mexican cartel members was never part of Project Gunrunner. That came under "Fast and Furious".... an Obama creation.

The Libs forget they are two different programs...or maybe they dishonestly try and paint them to be the same to Blame Bush.

Dishonesty is the answer. They have no qualms about lying to advance Obama's narrative. The ends justify the means.

At first I thought this was another troll post, but maybe you really don't know the truth. The "Bush did it" defense is getting old, especially when it's wrong like this post. Yes, something similar to Fast & Furious started during the Bush era as an ATF initiative known as "Operation Wide Receiver" involving the "tracing" of firearms that crossed into Mexico. It worked. Fast & Furious which used "gun-walking" did not begin until 2009, months after the end of the Bush administration.

Wide Receiver actually involved not gun-walking but controlled delivery. Unlike gun-walking, controlled delivery is a very common law enforcement tactic. The agents know the bad guys have negotiated a deal to acquire some commodity that is either illegal itself or illegal for them to have or use. The agents allow the transfer to happen under circumstances where they are in control — i.e., they are on the scene conducting surveillance of the transfer, and sometimes even participating undercover in the transfer. As soon as the transfer takes place, they can descend on the suspects, make arrests, and seize the commodity in question — all of which makes for powerful evidence of guilt. The program worked.

Fast & Furious involved uncontrolled deliveries of thousands of weapons. The feds allowed these guns to be sold to straw purchasers, often using reluctant gun dealers to make the sales. The straw purchasers were not followed by close physical surveillance; they were freely permitted to bulk transfer the guns to, among others, Mexican drug gangs and other violent criminals — with no agents on hand to swoop in, make arrests, and grab the firearms. The inevitable result of this was that the guns have been used (and will continue to be used) in many crimes, including the murder of Brian Terry, a U.S. border patrol agent.

Holder aided and abetted the enemy. That's called treason.

That was a good post...up until the treason part. Lets not make out every criminal as a freaking enemy combatant.

I never thought the usual crowd of gun-grabbing libs had gone away.

And neither did Obama since he is the one who was trying to throw some red meat in their cage to get them going again.

But I think it is the lib liars who have failed not Fox News for exposing Obama's plan.

One can only come to the conclusion that Fast n Furious, is the fault of Barack Obama and his administration's policies, if one considers the truth, and the FACTS.

How dare you, even suggest that we are to consider what the FACTS and the TRUTH surrounding the program are.

Instead of doing as all good little Saul Alinsky-ite liberals do, and just blindly swallowing the Obama kool-aid, choosing to believe in lies, and whatever other fairytales the leftists come up with to excuse and justify this President's trampling of our law, our Constitution and our laws.

How dare you suggest that something may in-fact not be "Bush's fault".

However that said, the fact that even now, three years into Obama's Presidency, there are those on the left still attempting to pass the buck, and blame Bush for the mistakes, and mis-deeds Barack Obama has committed, says rather quite a bit, about not only the complete lack of any moral fiber on the part of Obama, but it says alot about the complete lack of character among many of his supporters as well.

Don't worry. Even though Eric Holder is a criminal, he's still the Attorney General of the United States and is therefore above the law.
