You know those letters he says he didn't write and had no clue what was in them? Well now it's been uncovered that he not only knew about them, he bragged about them!

1995 video shows Ron Paul discussing newsletters

Although he now says he did not write them and knew little of their contents, GOP candidate Ron Paul described specifically his controversial newsletters in a 1995 C-SPAN interview made when he was seeking to return to Congress.

In the interview, which was posted Tuesday on YouTube, Paul described his "educational" efforts including videos and the newsletter, which he describes as a "political type of business investment newsletter."
"It covered a lot about what was going on in Washington: financial events, especially some of the monetary events, since I had been especially interested in monetary policy, had been on the banking committee and am still very interested in that subject," he said in the interview. "This newsletter dealt with it; this has to do with the value of the dollar, the pros and cons of the gold standard, and of course the disadvantages of all the high taxes and spending our government seems to continue to do."

Can a Ron Paul devotee please help me out with this one? How is it he can say he had no clue what was in them, while in 1995 he touted what was in them?

Also, if these were ghost written, who were the ghost writers? Why won't Paul say who they were? Why is he hiding their identity and protecting them?

Ron Paul's supporters are usually outspoken. I wonder if they'll suddenly go silent?

Maybe because he knew the basic themes of his newsletters? And didn't read each individual one? Is this a real thread? Are you that eager to find what you want to find?

I'm eager to hear Paul's supports come up with a defense. So you say he knew the general theme? How?? He said he never read them. Did he know the writer(s)? How else could he possibly know the basic them? And if he knew the writers, why won't he say who they were? Is he protecting them?

One must never put their name on something that they haven't read. You might as well sign a blank check toward a million dollar trust fund and not expect the recipient to take it all.

Especially over a 5 year period, while bragging about their contents and making a small fortune off them.

But the mindless minion will keep chanting his name.

    Keyword: endorsed

Like, for instance, if I were to endorse Stormfront.org on these forums, I'd be branded as a racist in a heartbeat. What makes Ron Paul so danged special?

WOW. So because Paul may have lied, Calminian is in favor of bombing Iran?

In other news, conservatives are racist because they don't like Obama driving their economy into the toilet.

He doesn't? He seems to be against pork. At least that's what he tells his constituents. His play is to put his pork in bills he knows will pass, then vote against them so he can feign innocence.

The guy is a hack in a cheap suit. I'm just glad his son got his good looks and brains from his mother.

Paul didn't say he never read the newsletters.

He did say he never read these things that are being presented as controversial.

    He disavowed them.

    They are not his beliefs.

He has no record of being a racist.

He is the only candidate who will end the war on drugs and pardon all non-violent drug offenders.

    End of story.

Who cares if Ron Paul is a racist? He wouldn't be the first racist president. In fact, there's a racist in the White House right now.

This isn't Sports Illustrated. It isn't Vogue. It's Ron Paul's small time little libertarian newsletter, He's said he wasn't watching over it like a hawk and I don't know why that's so unbelievable. He accepted "moral responsibility" for them being published in his name. WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT?

Let's face it, you won't be satisfied unless he goes and blows the head off his campaign by grovelling before the Black Panthers for forgiveness.
Sorry, not going to happen. He said he doesn't believe in it. He said he didn't write it. Stop being a little mini Stalinist and look for something else to attack him on... maybe like issues.

The man is old, senility will set in if it hasn't all ready. I saw him do an intereview on the broadcast propaganda news, and he looked a little disoriented when asked about steps he would take to fix the problem. After all, like the others, all they can do is rant about the problem with no real solutions.

Indeed. About 12 months after Hannity broke it on his show and after Obama had dispensed with Hillary.
