    American propaganda. The Cold War.

September 2nd, 1945 at 09.02 in Tokyo time aboard the U.S. battleship "Missouri" signed the Act of Japan's surrender. The bloodiest war in human history has ended. And the U.S. has no longer any need for such an ally as Russia. From the main ally of the U.S. propaganda had to be in very short time to turn our country into the main enemy

    Magazine "Time" 1961

Throughout the war American propaganda painted the image of Russian heroes, selfless fighters for freedom. But here the war ended and publishers of American newspapers, magazines, forgot about freedom and democracy in Russia .They said - In Russia ,terrible communism, and communism are spreading rapidly across Europe and Asia. Advocacy training to the Cold War began even before the March 6, 1946 in Fulton, Mo., Sir Winston Churchill made his famous speech.
However, the "free world" had a distinct advantage in that case, if the "cold war" grow into "hot" - Bomb. And there was a huge fleet of strategic bombers capable of striking targets almost the entire territory of our country. Yes, the Soviets the largest and most powerful land army in the world, but the chances of seeing Soviet tanks on the streets of Washington or New York are equal to zero. You can safely store nuclear arsenal, and improve delivery vehicle bombs recipients.

    Comics "Red Iceberg" 1960

But the September 3, 1949 in air samples collected by plane American weather reconnaissance, discovered radioactive isotopes. America is not the only member of the elite nuclear club. And the American propaganda instantly reacts to this bad news - Americans frightened by the horrors of nuclear war

    Poster movie "Red Dawn"

After the Missile Crisis popular subject of films and comic books was a Russian invasion. Role models for American directors were Soviet movies during the war - the bloodthirsty Russian invaders simply copy the actions and demeanor of German invaders, and American partisans and underground fighters imitate the Soviet. However, compare these films with the Soviet originals at the American audience was not possible. At the same time removed, and countless movies about the opposition spies and scouts (the most glaring example - the famous "James Bond"). Confrontation between two superpowers in hot spots around the world also attracted the attention of Hollywood - just remember two films about the adventures of John Rambo in Vietnam and Afghanistan. And always Russian on the screen - or stupid idiots or vicious killers and aggressors

John Rambo, a courageous bout with a typical Russian soldier

The tone of American propaganda could not be changed with the beginning of "perestroika" and "glastnost." Russian again were among the "good guys". But not for long - only until the end of the Cold War. A war that we lost.

The Cold War was like pap for the masses..

American intellectuals took a far more realistic view.

We are doing the same thing NOW.. with the Islamic Threat.

    Yeah we did......

Do you remember before the Vietnam war?

There were no Vietnamese manicure shops or restaurants or laundries in the US.

A couple of days after 9-11 I had supper with an IBM exec.. and I was feeling very droopy because this insane group of renegades had killed so many Americans.

He said.. Cheer up.. When this is all over there will be Muslims all over America and Muslim converts galore... that's how it works.

    Oh, yeah...

There is nothing like revisionist history.

I guess you're going to say that Kruschev never banged his shoe on the podium of the United Nations screaming "we will bury you!"

    Yawn...

Please continue in your orgy of lies....

When the Marshall Plan started my Father was preaching that we should tighten our belts and keep our freedom, tell 'em to keep their dirty money. Where I lived everyone worshipped the Red Army, thought Paul Robeson was the best American who had ever lived and knew that we never wanted to go back to the 'thirties. The Cold War, against all the odds, managed to do it, and here we are, back in 1932 or thereabouts. You have to admire the persistence of those who pulled it off, against all experience, by controlling the media.

Hollywood even does not understand what powerful economic weapon they have given Russians making all of these idiotic films. If Russian diaspora in the USA and Russia would be more active we could ruin Hollywood by multi-billion claims for those images which they have created. I respect the Afro-American position in this business. They have forced the American producers to have the positive black hero in every film. It reaches even idiocy: for example there are black knights in films about medieval England. Nevertheless this is well. These cattles in Hollywood do not understand other language except of language of judicial claims and huge penalties.

Do not exaggerate this incident. During the speech of the lecturer about Hungarian problem Khrushchev has removed his shoe and has begun to examine and shake it deliberately for a long time, he has lifted it at the level of the head, and some times he has slightly knocked it on the table, as if trying to beat out small stone, which, ostensibly was there. Khrushchev showed by these actions the report is not interesting for him. Khrushchev was the village guy and is considered by many persons in Russia as the village idiot.
But in any case there is the indisputable fact the West was the initiator of cold war. The Churchill's speech in Fulton is considered as the official beginning of cold war. Though preparation for this war were started long time before this speech. So do not accuse someone in rewriting history because your historians are champions in this business. If you have a point, defend it with facts and do not splash rage.

    It is on camera .
I could not care less about this stupid and babyish squabbling but your explanation of the Krushchev "Shoe" incident is the most uproarious I have ever seen .

Your first point is gobbledy gook --- who knows what nonsense you imagine?
Your second point is just hilarious .
Let the Yanks defend their use of slaves .It's not my job .
But Russia took slavery to fresh depths by enslaving its own people .
And even now the Russians have hero Slave Masters --- Stalin , Brezhnev and Putin . There are still millions of people who will defend these monsters quite sincerely and without a trace of embarrassment .
    Quite sad .
