certain countries in the Middle East continue to traffic in slaves from Africa, with the authorities either indifferent or as willing accomplices there's now a novel twist. According to a recent media report, homosexual men in Kenya are lured to certain Middle Eastern countries with the false promises of lucrative legitimate employment, only to find themselves in involuntary servitude of the worse kind--as chattel and sex slaves of rich families and individuals. Remember, in Arabic the word for 'black' (as in black African) and 'slave' is the same: abed. Islamic supremacists constantly lambaste the supposedly 'immoral' West for permitting homosexuality and even legalizing gay marriage in some jurisdictions -- homosexuality is in fact a capital crime in five Muslim-controlled countries. But these same supremacists, along with every Muslim government, hypocritically and blatantly ignore the ongoing Muslim trafficking of homosexuals (and others) for the explicit and sole purpose of sex. http://bikyamasr.com/52127/kenyan-gay-men-become-sex-slaves-in-arab-gulf/
Are you trying to make the point that fundamentalist religious people and societies are often hypocrites? I fully AGREE!
still thats better than the Catholics, they just rape and molest little kids instead. Again your religious bigotry shines right through bud
Difference being a priest can be charged for it, there are however no human trafficking laws in most Arab states due to the 2nd rate status infidels ( who are the slaves) tend to have or in this case black people
Actually, black in Arabic is "aswad". African is "Afriqiy". "Abd" does mean slave or servant, yes. And all of us are slaves. To Allah SWT. "Abdullah" means Slave of Allah. It's a common Muslim name. Yes, "abd" is used sometimes to describe Black people, however it is not exclusive to Black people or an offensive term. Since you felt like making that specific part of your post bigger and bold, I felt I should clarify that part سلام
Nobody actually cares that gay Kenyans are being tricked into being prostitutes in the Middle East. All they really care about is a chance to bash Islam. That's all that's important. سلام
Some Christians refer to themselves as slaves to Christ. It all seems rather odd to me. Why enslave yourself to a second master via religion? We're already slaves to money as it is.
Well to most Muslims Allah is #1... Sadly that seems to be changing in some areas and pieces of paper (money) is all that seems to matter. سلام
In the areas where Allah is #1, civil liberties tend to be rather limited. To be fair, the same is true where any religion is the primary emphasis.
This is true in some areas but that is because the way leaders interpret Islam and the Quran, and most of the time these practices don't fit with Islam. For example, honor killings is not permitted in Islam, however it still happens occasionally "in the name of Allah" because these people - usually uneducated or extremists or both - want to justify their views. This is how movements like al-Qaida grew, they recruited the poor and uneducated, offered them food in return for them to join, and shared with them their views. Fundementalism is a problem in every belief system, not just religious either. سلام
I agree, but this is also part of why uniting religion and government is a mistake to begin with. I understand that Islam in general seems to lean in favor of this union, but keeping religion and state separate is necessary for any truly free society to flourish. Granted, the NDAA and Patriot Act have shown that even countries with secular governments can erode freedoms. The same was true with the USSR.
The NDAA will be a useful tool when the time arrives to round up all the Muslims in America and send them to the moon.
It's horrible! Doubly so because if some of those Arab governments cracked down on the slave trade then the gay sex slaves might be executed rather than rescued and returned home.
