Bachman's few points seemed to help Santorum a bit. I'm not sure anyone else can add up to enough votes for a single contender to overthrow Romney at this point. Let's assume everyone else drops out before it's too late. Huntsman's few points will help Romney. Perry's few will probably help Santorum. Paul supporters would probably stay home (hard to imagine they would vote for a religious nut), although I don't see Paul dropping out soon. That would leave Gingrich, but I've seen polls that indicate his remaining votes wouldn't really favor anyone. Hardcore right-wingers have already fled the Newt.

It does seem we're headed to a competitive general election (note that Mittens is the only one consistently competitive against Obama)

between two contenders who support policies the Republicans have labelled "socialist", although Romney's elitism and perpetual flip floppery, along with an improving economy, might sink him. For all their blather, many tea partiers don't appear to have the spine to vote on principles, and partisanship renders them very forgiving of their own.

Romney passed a law that was only for the state of MA.

Obama passed it and overstepped his authority for all of the nation.

If someone didn't like the MA healthcare law, they could have moved to another state and still be a citizen of this nation.

If someone doesn't like Obamacare, and doesn't want to pay, they go to jail.

Romney passed a law that extended to the entire population he presided over (then vetoed attempts to axe the individual mandate), much like Obama. But it's still a "socialist" law by right-wing definition.

2 of your "socialists" will be facing off. Maybe you should find another country.

Romney worked with the democrats, who actually passed the law.

I thought you were about compromise? btw-states have a right to do this under the 10th amendment. Do I agree with it, no, can the state do it, yes.

Romney signed it, defended it from attacks, and continues to defend it. Why would that be?

He's a "socialist" by far right definition.

Did someone go to jail? If they did they will now have healthcare. So I assume they will be in compliance and free. Once free they will have none so I assume they will be arrested. Around we go!!!!

What would you call one who supports "socialist" policies?

MITT is the ultimate private insurance mogule. I would vot Mit if I has ownership of a lot of healthcare insurance copropations.

After all, you don't become rich and successfull in the insurance buisness, without manipulating the government for self profit.

Yay for Corporate bidness in government. We need more Corporations and monopolies to sucker the USA taxpayer and voter even more.

Related, I read of a few cases where someone commits a crime in order to go to jail and get free healthcare. That's one problem a full universal healthcare system would solve. Too bad Republicans want poor Americans to be treated worse than criminals.

In practice, few will not get healthcare. Those who don't want to pay are usually those who can't afford to. Those who can't afford to will receive subsidies covering most or all of the costs (depending on income level).

Hopefully this will be the trend.

With less people in the USA, the insureance companies can save on denying any treatment and care.

After all, a risk manager was designed by health insurance companies to evaluate if a law suit is cheaper than the cost of treatment.

And with tort laws, the consumer will be limited to a small pay out.

This is great for investors of healthcare insurance.

Myself and other people who work for me have pre-existing conditions.

We change insurance companies almost yearly, are are not denied coverage or dropped.--the prexisting condition thing is a talking point with no merit.

I don't want to pay for my child's healthcare until they are 26. They will get it on their own.

Insurance is not something that you wait until you get sick to buy.

You buy insurance to insure yourself against a future occurance.

Someone can't take a life insurance policy out on you when you are already dead.

If you don't have insurance, you will be treated, but will have to make the payments on your own.

Which begs the question, how much is your life worth to you?

Republicans don't think we should care about the poor, unless we want to. In reality the less you care about something the more out of control it becomes. Everyone cares about their own healthcare on some level. The poor still want to live at least. Everyone will get some healthcare as you say, but will it be enough to make the poor content?

    I just have one question.

Where does it say one person should be forced to provide for another person?

Wait? Are the Democrats going to now vote for Romney because of his leadership on health care?
