    .....

If you watched the 'Meet The Press' David gregory debate this morning, you could have watched Santorum flame-out fairly rapidly thanks to Ron Paul's questions to him. Ron Paul was very good; he and Jon Huntsman came off as the only two adults in the pack.

Mitt Romney was like a cornered rat when Gingrich went after his various losing candidacies, and his attack ads.

But both Ron Paul and Jon Huntsman surely picked up votes this morning thanks to David Gregory's insightful and demanding questions.

Gregory himself personally finished off Rick Perry, who was so busy bouncing off the walls he didn't notice.

It was altogether a great show, entirely professional, and didn't allow any long-winded replies. David just cut right in and asked the question again and the candidate had to answer it verbatim exactly as they believed the right answer to be and you know that is dangerous for a politician.

Even in light of this, some Conservatives would still vote Santorum over Paul. It's mainly Christian fundamentalist, 'overly Pro-Isreal' Co., those who are scared to death of Iran, and others who feel that our military must be posted up in every corner of the globe.

Yes, Paul is waiting for it to be a two candidate race.

I have this weird feeling that Romney and Paul are playing nice so they could pick one or the other as VP to try to draw in more Republican base, but I can't see it happening in reality. Still I have that weird feeling...probably gas.

I have thought about that too, but for some reason I doubt it.

I could tolerate a Paul/ Romney presidency... that combo would ensure Obama's defeat in 2012.

But as you say, highly improbable. Who knows though, we do know that Romney would vote for RP.

Romney as Paul's VP would be a bad choice. He's a big government, militaristic corporatist, that is nearly identical to Obama. He has nothing in common with Dr. Paul. And God forbid Ron were to die or get sick, we'd be right back at square one with Romney. Gary Johnson or his son Rand would be much better choices.
