Barack has raised almost 83 million already. The nearest contender is Mitt with a paltry 32 million in the coffers. (http://www.opensecrets.org/pres12/index.php) That kind of money can change facts in the media.

My prediction: Close to 3 to 1 odds that Obama is re-elected. The US public ALWAYS goes with the candidate with the most money because they want to vote for a winner.

If "Just For Men" can overcome hair color, just imagine what more than $19.95 Million can do...

Anyone that decides who to vote for in this coming election based on watching dumbass media blurbs should be quarantined in some institution for the brainless.

    I WANT THIS.

And ultimately... I think more and more (amongst the wealthy), will figure out that it's HOW all that money is used (and what it 'communicates')... that will actually make the difference.

They can likely spend all the 'money' they want... but if what they are 'communicating' does not properly resonate with things the American people actually NEED and/or desire... the AMOUNT of money they spend won't do anything for them.

I would bet against Obama if you would give me a 30% spread. This will be a close election.

Voting for whoever runs against him, except if it ends up being Gingrich.

    At 3 to 1 odds, that's worth $10,000 of anybody's money!

You know, this thread makes me actually wonder... how many people in America DO gamble (real money, placing bets) on Presidential Elections??

Not always. Meg Whitman lost horribly for governor of CA and had a ridiculous amount of money.

In Wisconsin, the Dems and Public Unions spent tens of millions of dollars to attempt to wrest control of the Wisconsin Legislature from Republicans.

    They failed.

It is because they spent tens of millions of dollars to get their message out.

Money will not help Obama. He should save it to avoid getting his message out: his message will help bury him.

Just as it did the leftists in Wisconsin - and will again, when they fail to unseat Scott Walker.

You don't think money will skyrocket to the republican nominee after the primary?

Over 8% unemployment for the longest sustained time in the history of this country since the great depression. 16+% underemployment (stimulus jobs), $4+ trillion dollars in new debt in less than 3 years, home foreclosures continuing unabated by any Obama plan, gasoline hovering around $4 a gallon and food prices hitting the stratosphere.

That's the platform the Democrats have to run on?

With that stellar record, I think Bernie Lomax, the dead guy from the Movie a Weekend at Bernie's could beat Obama. This election may very well end up as the "anybody but Barry" election.

No, they'll probably run on the blown up economy that George engineered right as he was leaving office, with GM bankrupt, the worst economy sine the depression, invading countries for pleasure and profit, massive "too big to fail" bank bailouts....things like that.
