I read the story about the killing of most of the bees and butterflies by MOnsanto in this country, which help pollenate neighboring plants and fruit trees...and it's eerily ironic how I rarely if at all see any bees anymore. I miss fanning them away from me dodging stings...lol..

    and I haven't seen a wild butterfly in my yard 3 years..lol

I heard all the bees were dying off, but haven't heard any stories about it lately. Realistically, I think if this die off does happen, they will recover faster than predicted, and come back stronger. Seems the scientist usually underestimate nature.

Well, well ... so Hillary Clinton had to dodge a swarm of bees and run for cover. Oh well - better than the sniper bullets she claimed she had to dodge in Bosnia......

I have some bees around my place, but haven't seen any butterflies in quite awhile...

We have butterflies red and yellow, but it seems less than we used to. However, we were at Hadrian's Wall this morning and there are thistles all around the area which were absolutely heaving with red butterflies we call Red Admirals and which I thought I read were under threat. I counted 8 of them within the area immediately in front of us, I assume they are all over the fields there... good news to me.

I still see bees and butterflies doting around here in Arizona. Even saw a big swarm of bees across the yard a few months ago at my aunt's place. You could hear them buzzing, it was so loud!

Scientists discover what’s killing the bees and it’s worse than you thought
July 24, 2013 > As we’ve written before, the mysterious mass die-off of honey bees that pollinate $30 billion worth of crops in the US has so decimated America’s apis mellifera population that one bad winter could leave fields fallow. Now, a new study has pinpointed some of the probable causes of bee deaths and the rather scary results show that averting beemageddon will be much more difficult than previously thought.

    Careful monsanto is Obama's checkbook.
A news research company reported a study about GMO and roundup and what is is doing to bees so monsanto bought the research company. Guess what? We haven't heard anything again from this research company.

A most interesting question. I have had thoughts and sentiments on this myself. I have noticed the absence of them as well and remember reading an article of the threat to the bee colonies and thier population and have also noticed the prolonged absence of butterflies in my area too.

It gives rise into my curiosity of their absence. I will do a bit of research on it.

The United States has morphed into a gigantic cornfield for almost the sole purpose of producing corn-ethanol. The zillions of acres of corn fields require enormous amounts of fertilizers and insecticides to make them profitable. Moreover, the highly compressed and rapidly shrinking available land to grow food crops are also demanding more fertilizer and insecticides to survive.

Passengers on Amtrak, from southern Virginia to Jacksonville, Florida, will see hundreds of existing tank farms and tank farms being built, all along the way. Passengers assume these enormous tanks are for storing petroleum. Wrong! They are filled with billions of gallons of ethanol which no one wants and which the government cannot get rid of.

Pesticides, fertilizer and ethanol are becoming America's biggest industries -- to the detriment of honey bees and butterflies.

Of course he's impeachable -- but who would dare try to do it?

I got a really good answer on that a couple of years ago......
Sulphur Dioxide.... seems to be the primary culprit in killing frogs... so I assume it is also killing butterflies and bees as well....
..... but yes.... certain Monsanto products are perhaps even more dangerous for bees........
