If Obama is re-elected, where do you think the debt will be by the end of 2016?

?

Guess the debt?

  2. 15-20 trillion (stays where it is now, gets a little worse)

I am guessing somewhere in the neighborhood of 25 trillion. The trillion+ deficits will continue, and we may finally get hit with the inflation that has been building over the years. There will be no coming back from this situation.

Very close. It's 15-16 Trillion right now. It wouldn't surprise me if he totally collapsed and blew out the economy just for kicks.

The end game of progressives is to completely burn down the economy so that the fiery phoenix of socialism can rise from the ashes.

Makes sense with all the moves Obama has made to that direction.

    It's not hard to tell.

The deficits are on schedule to come back down in the next few years. I don't see how the debt could realistically top 20 trillion by 2016. In other words, Obama's presence in the white house means nothing for deficits; he is no more likely to run up the deficit than a Republican.

Once again, history is discarded in the face of overwhelming Obama love. Obama has increased the debt by 5 to 6 trillion in 3 years, the first President ever to have over trillion dollar deficits every year, and you actually say that Obama "means nothing for deficits"? Unbelievable.

And you are dreaming if you actually think the debt is going to go down. That's not how our Government works. That's why we need real change, not just "hope and change" bumper stickers.

Obamacare hasn't been factored into your analysis. It starts in earnest in less than two years. It will force a major expansion of Medicaid, and the states will look to Washington for help.

It could be that we won't be allowed to borrow any more, like Greece right now. We are bankrupt currently since our debt owed exceeds what we can pay and any moment those debts can be called. Then what do we do? Go to war over the debt? I tend to doubt we could crush China to whom we owe the greatest amount. Probably they will just start gobbling-up our land in exchange for debt, then move some of their military here (which would be their right if they owned the land) and then we'd be in deep doo-doo.

But I'm sure "Cigar" sees the pie-in-the-sky and likes the flavor.

Facts like these hurt the eyes of those that don't want to see the truth.

And if China rolled up through Mexico border in tanks tomorrow it's nothing we could do about it because President Otis can't see the forest for the trees. .

Depends. Will conservatives keep insisting the rich pay almost no taxes, thus causing the debt to skyrocket?

The middle class is picked dry. You can't ask them to pay for rich men's subsidies any longer. Either we stop the rich from freeloading, or the debt skyrockets.

Which do conservatives want? That is, which do they love more, debt reduction or their rich masters?

The rich pay 80% of the tax burden in this country. They do pay.

Are you in the 47% of people in this country who pay no income taxes, by any chance?

The Liberal think tank at work^ here, Let's watch this...lol

I guess you haven't heard President Otis talking about ALL OF US pay our fair share? SO, since the 47% pay no taxes now, what will they pay if Otis gets his way? you guessed it....NOTHING.

So Otis ain't slick, he wants to say "Pay our fair share" but he wants the Rich to pay the share that the abject poor will never be able to pay. got it?

Otis can't say "tax everybody the same" because he knows his ass will be gone so he plays on the words "fair share" and points his aim at the Rich to pay the "fair share"

OTIS IS LYING TO YOU AND YOU LOVE IT. :date:

    I don't know who OTIS is ... but I'll make-up a fictional character also ... let's say ... CRACKER!

If CRACKER is unemployed, meaning ... CRACKER is not receiving any income other than his Unemployment-Check that CRACKER has Taxes taken out of ... how much more should CRACKER Pay?

Now ... if CRACKER is neither receiving Unemployment or any other income ... where exactly is the Government going to get it's money from CRACKER?

This ain't Long-Division ... Sport. There really isn't Blood in a Turnip.

I'm expressing "Obama love" by making an observation about spending and saying the president is irrelevant to the size of the deficit?

Given that the president has no authority whatsoever to run a deficit, I fail to see how Obama's presence matters. It's Congress who has decided to run deficits, through a combination of overly aggressive tax cuts and spending.

I didn't say the debt would go down, I suggested the deficits would go down. This is very obvious, since there will be no stimulus this year, and likely next as well. It's very likely that we will have <$1 trillion deficits over the next four years; making it unlikely that we would pass $20 trillion by 2016.
