Even the leftist Bill Murray is coming to the realization that people should take care of themselves...

Are you saying Murray is having some kind of 'come to God' moment? Well I am not buying it. I've been disappointed and manipulated to often in the past to believe any of these asses.

Sometimes actors reach a certain age and they think its safe to come out of the closet and be more conservative.

If he doesn't work in Hollywood again hopefully he has enough money already that it doesn't matter.

Isn't that the truth? I thought I admired Clint until he did his adoring the bail-out administration chrysler commercial during the superbowl. Stupid jerk.:boo:

He supported Ralph Nader and the Green Party in the 2000 presidential elections, but that doesn't really mean much. A lot of people I know who didn't like Bush nor Gore went for Nader just to get the "feel good" vote. I mean really, the Green Party is pretty harmless. That's like voting for Ron Paul or something. You know they're not going to win, but you feel happy that you voted for somebody. ;)

I have no idea what Bill Murray's political beliefs are, but his movies are hilarious.

    here's more from his 'interview'.

But at the same time, Murray criticized both parties for their partisan bickering.

"They spend all their time just trying to destroy the other guy, not to work together, but to humble and humiliate the other so that they can't have success.

"It's not working to serve anyone anymore," he added. "I don't want to sound like a Rotarian, but if you're not some sort of common good, and you're only servic[ing] your sort of partisan alliance, you're part of what's destructive, you're destroying something."

Murray was also asked about actor Clint Eastwood's "Halftime in America" Super Bowl advertisement for Chrysler. Murray said he had not see the ad, but said it sounds similar to his message of taking care of yourself and trying to help others.

"I think he's right. I think it's a very good message, and I don't know why anyone would try to politicize it," Murray said. "It really sounds like what I'm talking of, of taking your own personal responsibility, and when you do that, then you can work with other people."

When CNBC host Joe Kernen said Murray's comments seemed to hew to a scene out of the movie "Stripes," Murray laughed and said, "Thank you for relaxing me there."

Do you know what this is for? It's for discouraging conservatives. It is for making us feel like we are the minority rather than the majority. It's for making us feel like giving up.

That's not the message that I'm getting from him. Granted, I'm not a conservative, but I am all for personal responsibility, something that liberals are not all about; they want the government to take care of everything. Conservatives want people to go out and work for themselves and make a living for themselves and their own instead of getting that welfare check every 1st of the month. Bill Murray's message, like Clint Eastwood's, is decidedly non-liberal in my eyes.

One of my best friend’s wife, is first cousins with Bill Murray and I’ve been to at least three (3) weddings that he was at, and at least a dozen RMCC Golf Tournaments that Bill attended … trust me … Bill can’t speech about personal responsibility.

Bill Murray is correct on this. The liberals on this forum who demand that it is their right to be given everything they want would not have made it in the early days of this country. They are simply too lazy and weak. They would have fallen apart at the first hardship, because they simply don't have what it takes. However, we live in a much more forgiving country now. There are people who literally are mentally retarded who are able to support themselves doing some sort of menial work. I worked in a manufacturing facility years ago and the guy who swept the floors was retarded. Many of the liberals on this very forum demand cradle to the grave government support, so they are telling us that they can't or won't even do what many retarded people are capable of.

We got to see what you liberals are really like with your occupy protests. Put a group of liberals together and what do you get? Everything from rape to murder. The media had to stop covering the protests, because it was showing liberals for what they really are. Lazy degenerates.

Bill Murray makes a broad statement, and in return, we get a lot of speculation about his political orientation while others indulge in an opportunity to blame liberals for something.

This really is the quintessential thread for this forum.

The goal of an authoritative government is to "take care of" enough of the population so that those who traditionally did it no longer are needed. It is the Left Wing trap that the masses fall for too often. When it is too late, then they realize the error of their ways as they stand in line for basic necessities.

I'm not liberal. I hate liberals. They are whiny, putrescent, pieces of amphibian excrement. They are the Occupiers of rat-infested hellholes of society. They eat what I throw away. Just because I am not a conservative doesn't make me a liberal. There is that gray area in between where one can agree with both ideologies to a limited extent without necessarily identifying with either camp, MisLed. Grow up.

Why can't he? He has taken care of himself without the help of the government, hasn't he? Or, is he on welfare? Food stamps? Has he been receiving unemployment for 2yrs?

How would you define "liberal." I'm a Democrat. Does that automatically make me a "liberal." If you are a Democrat does that automatically mean you've been on welfare?
