Townsville WW2 mutiny uncovered by Queensland historian Friday, February 10, 2012 08:25:00 http://www.abc.net.au/am/content/2012/s3427319.htm When I discovered this, Red Tails came to mind for some reason. I wonder if Matt Lucas or any other Hollyweird writer would make a movie about this newly discovered event? It's certainly interesting and dramatic enough. Let the excuses begin... here, I'll start you all off... the White officers were being racist and therefore deserved to be gunned down by their own soldiers.
Wow ... I bet that's the first time Soldiers ever done that. I'm bet anything someone decided to stop taking crap from someone. Something like ... what did you call me?
Can we have an opinion from somebody other than racist, hateful blacks? We already know what they think.
What excuses? We know almost nothing. The article you cited specifically mentions that very, very little information is known. I don't condone any mutinies. I am also against cover ups at this late date of anything that happened in WW2. Something may have happened, something may not. We should find out. If it gives bigots little jollies that something like this happened, so be it. If it is what Bigots point to everytime somone mentions lynchings of blacks in the south, so be it. Let the truth win out.
If the bigots cannot see that 600 black skinned soldiers turned their machine guns on their White officers during a the most important war in history and that there's no excuse for that then the bigots should really not comment on the issue.
Since everything you are basing your statement on is one uncorroborated and speculative news account- I think you are just hoping- just hoping and hoping this will be fuel for your fire. Me? I will wait until we find out the entire story- if there is even a real story here- and let the chips fall as they will. I am neither rooting for the bigots or anyone else but the truth.
My first response still applies: We know almost nothing.
Murder is NEVER excusable... EVER! What part of that do you understand? Especially racially motivated murder which is what this is. What makes me think you'd be ready to grill these murderers had they been White soldiers firing on blacks and ONLY blacks?
