New Jersey Gay Marriage: State Senate Passes Bill Legalizing Same-Sex Marriage

Yet another state sees that denying homosexuals the right to marry is unequal treatment under the law.

The tide is turning against the bigotry of homosexuals. With in 10 years, gay marriage will be legal in all 50 states is my prediction.

Also, as I have stated before, Civil Unions are unconstitutional since it would be separate but equal. And as we all know, separate could never be equal per the SCOTUS in a 1954 ruling. I see there is a law suite in the state court saying the same thing.

    Not if its vetoed no.

And its still 0-33 in front of direct public vote so despite the fantasy claims by the militant left, its not popular.

You can :blahblah: all you want about the 0-33 in front of a vote. The vote is meaningless if its unconstitutional.

U.S. Supremes to decide on 'gay' marriage...

Highest court to decide on gay marriage
Wednesday, September 26, 2012 -- By next summer, the U.S. Supreme Court will almost certainly have decided whether gays and lesbians can marry in California and whether same-sex couples legally married in their home states can be denied federal benefits.

Not quite. Yet another liberal state legislature decides to rule via fiat for their hopey-feely-changey agenda. In any state that has ever allowed its citizenry to vote on the matter, it has been defeated.

The religious right is fighting a losing battle here. As long as the gov is in marriage, gays have a right to marry. And during the coming years, a bunch of bigoted older folk will die, and young people that don't irrationally hate gays will turn 18 and be able to vote. Then the battle will finally be over.

I'd imagine it's pretty close as of now. Take the vote in 10 years when a lot of bigoted 70+ people die and are replaced by people who are minors now, but will be of voting age then. It won't be close.

The real agenda is to eliminate the institution of marriage altogether, remove children from their parents, and for the state to raise them in dormitory schools where they will be brainwashed to be good statists.

LOL...some states are mandating smaller drinks "for your health", those same ones..and others like NJ...have no issue promoting spreading AIDS and torn colons. Somehow those fit right into this healthy mindset we have today.

Perhaps to save us all from paying for the AIDS cocktails and treatment we should just ban gay. nah wont happen, some preferences seem to be off the table.

It's 2012 and some havent paid attention to the decade of education. Time to make them listen?

why would you bring aids into the discussion, since the majority of aids cases worldwide are among heterosexuals?

Because one segment of society where AIDS is still climbing is Gay males. if we are to legislate things like large Drinks, due to supposed health concerns (which only effect the one who is fat), Im not sure how we can turn a blind eye, or worse...endorse a lifestyle that is proven to be harmful to them and others they may come into contact with.

This is the slippery slope that has been opened by things like a soda ban. if my choices are deemed unhealthy, and need to be controlled...so do other obvious health hazards. For our own good of course.

    It's for our health.

Isnt that the mantra today Rahl? Or is it only with the 'unhealthy" activities that you and others pick and choose for your soapbox crusade? Validating and forcing this unhealthy lifestyle on the public seems to run in the exact opposite direction of other recent moves.

Don't think you could handle it.

Now, if they wanted to pass a law enabling a woman to marry several men. . . ! :nana:

this doesn't answer my question. why would you bring aids into the discussion, since the majority of aids cases worldwide are among heterosexuals

the slippery slope is a fallacy.
seeing as how the majority of aids cases are among heterosexuals, I would think you would want to outlaw or legislate against heterosexual sex and marriage.

or you could just admit you find homosexuals "icky", because you aren't fooling anyone.

Your question, and dodge about "world rates" dont seem relevant. The "World" isnt mandating Gay Marriage, and the World isnt banning large soda cups. Your smokescreen will not work here Rahl.
We're talking about overzealous statism IN THE USA. Where states are banning things people enjoy, or taxing them at higher rates...because "theyre unhealthy" and "cause us all to pay for them". While at the same time PROMOTING, and Forcing upon society a lifestyle documented to be still getting AIDS at an alarming rate.

Here in the USA we are legitimizing, and promoting unhealthy lifestyles by forcing legitimization of Gay marriage like this story. Gays in America are an unhealthy segment whos AIDS rates are still climbing despite decade of education. You do not have to like the facts for them to be true.

    http://healthland.time.com/2012/07/20/hiv-continues-to-spread-among-gay-men-studies-show/

If you insist on trying to talk about the world heres another nugget for you to chew on:

So...why shouldn't we be treating this choice like we do Tobacco, or large "sugary drinks " Rahl? Explain to me why my want to smoke, or drink a 32oz. Coke is not as legitimate as your want to throw a Penis in someone elses rectum.

    Disagree. It's real and demonstrable.

The acceptance and success of the Tobacco trial Balloon, paved the way for the Sugary Drink bans on the grounds of health. It can now be anything the Government wants to pick and choose as unhealthy. It's right there in practice Rahl, no fallacy at all. When the Soda initiative fails to meet the projected revenue...they'll find another product to demonize and tax....but for some reason it will never be certain , documented segments and their unhealthy pleasures.

    You're simply wrong here.

Sorry this crutch stance was already debunked above. We are not the world. our soda ban doesnt effect Sub Saharan Africa, nor do our Gay marriage Laws. Thats not the point of the argument. Here in America, we are picking and choosing just whos "guilty pleasures" deserve promotion and whos deserve scorn. This was the crux of the argument, sorry you missed it.

The OP on this article is a gay person who cries of you talk about Gay peoples habits, but is on record in other threads saying education has failed and people need to be made to give up THEIR unhealthy habits. Thats whats "icky" Rahl, and whats worse is when you see States slamming Gay marriage in against the will of the people...this is exactly whats happening.

Some peoples wants are held to a lower standard than other peoples, and they are being victimized, and pilfered for it.

    THATS icky.

I don't understand people. If you're not gay, why would you care if gay people are getting married? Mind your business.

The self-professed "limited government" types are unable to do that.
