Free from tyranny is from government involvement in your personal life. Obama and the democrats may spout social freedom, but they hate individual freedom.

Obama has more power as POTUS than any president in my lifetime.

I dont look at it as a team sport where Obama did this better or Bush did this better...They both have consolidated power and misled the people.

Ron Paul is truely the only guy out there that is a champion of liberty. There is such a massive movement from those in power to keep Ron Paul out of the picture. While there may be plenty of folks who do not like Ron Paul, we as Americans should be concered that this is taking place. Wake up!

If you fear the government its Tyranny but if the government fears the people its Liberty.

You didn't explain "How" he will do it? and by all accounts, he hasn't done thus far.

Sorry, but if you haven't noticed it's too late. A King who goes to war without a by-your-leave from Congress. Federal SWAT raids a dairy farm for, gasp, raw milk. Indefinite detention of U.S. citizens without habeas corpus and a President who smirks and promises he won't use the power. A major church told they will violate their relgious tenets on order of the King. An openly racist administration protecting "their" own and with no interest in protecting Amercians.

And, we have people who think President Obama has protected us from tyranny. It's mind-boggling.

You know, it just dawned on me that maybe the poor guy just doesn't know he is supposed to do things a certain way. It is his first time actually doing something.

    None of the above.
Politics was invented by elites to lure the masses into their election system (trap)
If a politician was really against the establishment one would not been allowed to speak in the mass media, seen on tv, and he would be worked out the political system, power structure.
Not one politician is against the establishment, one is simply not allowed, you could even face what JFK faced if you gain to much power and become a danger to the establishment.

Every one of those, except Paul, will either keep the Nanny/Police State fully intact or make it even worse.

When you force people to do things they would otherwise not do, then you are being tyrannical...

Like forcing people to buy Health Insurance. Yeah, it's a good thing, but it is NOT something the Government was given the Right to do.

Since Romney and Santorum ARE tyrants to begin with, I wouldn't give them much chance of preserving us from tyranny.

NDAA only Paul has come out agianst it. When the military can come into your home arrest you and hold you without charges and without representation I would call that an increase in tyranny. Of course they did add in that you can apeal to the Secretary of Defense or the President, but I doubt you canb get an appointment.

On May 26, 2011, President Barack Obama signed a four-year extension of three key provisions in the USA PATRIOT Act: roving wiretaps, searches of business records (the "library records provision"), and conducting surveillance of "lone wolves" — individuals suspected of terrorist-related activities not linked to terrorist groups.[3]

They can seize your money or property merely if they think it may have come from drug proceeds. The police and other law enforcement agencies have more power now than at any time in the past. Literally everything you do in the U.S. is subject to countless rules, regulations and laws. And they all support that. Only Paul would scale it back.
