I Really Like Ron Paul. I Really Do. I'm Voting For Obama Though.

Ron Paul is really the only guy worth watching in the debates. He's just so danm honest! I agree with him on a LOT of points too e.g. Why TF are we giving money to foreign politicians when we don't even trust our own; the war on drugs has already been lost etc...
But the stuff I disagree with him on, I disagree with so strongly that I won't vote for him. Plus I find the Libertarian Philosophy very flawed when it comes to The Market correcting itself. I've lived in places that had virturally no corporate regulation. No thanks.
I didn't like Obama at all for about two years. There are two things I'm still pretty furious with him about: ObamaCare and NDAA. Oh well.
But he has kept a LOT of his promises (including ObamaCare, which was one I wish he hadn't).
I didn't blame Bush for high prices and I don't blame Obama (well, maybe just a little but not to the extent the ConservaRepubs would like to believe).
I find this to be the most absurd time in history for the GOP to be so focused on social issues. I am former military and had friends who were Force Recon in Afghanistan. An Army translator listened in on chatter and kept them away from some seriously bad juju. Turned out he was gay. Took weeks to get another guy fluent in Pashtu or whatever TF it was.
So repealing DADT was a seriously big deal to a lot of people.
Also, as the DOO of a charity that helps returning troops and Veterans, I watched them get screwed by the GOP for years. Obama has funded a TON of programs for Vets and the VA that I like a lot. Also, he specifically had language written in that put in place the strongest protective measures of women in the military in history.
When I'm volunteering, the three candidates I hear the most positives things about are #1. Obama #2. Ron Paul and #3. "Anyone but Obama" (from the diehard ConservaRepubs). But there is no denying, this guy is liked a lot more military than any Dem in a long time.
Getting us out of Iraq is a big deal. I know it was already set but gee, have presidents spun things and broken promises before. So okey dokey.
He said he'd take the focus to Afghanistan and go after the people who actually attacked America. He killed more Taliban and Al Qaeda leaders in a couple years, than Bush did in eight. He followed the leads from dozens of SOF ops to Pakistan. Then, right in public, he negotiated the release of a US spy from the Pakistan government. A couple months later, He got Bin Laden and yes, I give him credit for that. Now that we finally MISSION ACCOMPLISHED, he's announced the withdraw from Afghanistan. All Bush's wars are over. The most important one, won by Obama.
And waddya know. We're getting out.
Libya. The Republicans (Boehner, Cantor) were screaming we should "Do Something". Then, with an actual NATO led force, we did. Not one American life. Quick withdraw. So of course, the Republicans suddenly became doves and screamed "Hey! He DID something!". WTF??? Hypocrisy much?
Same thing with Aw Lakhi. Suddenly the GOP sounded more like the ACLU! WTF!!!!

So what are the Republicans offering me? Romney seemed worth a look but he has been forced into Romney Version 5.9 by the other two. Now he is so socially Conservative! For now.

After months of talking about the fact that, even if the Dow is going up and UnEmployment is (according to FOX) going down and manufacturing is going up and.... well whatever, ALL is Doom & Gloom! Also it's all about the DEFICIT! That's the key folks!
So they all released their budgets. All of their budgets RAISE THE DEFICIT!!! WTF??? (okay not Ron Paul).
The same low taxes that haven't made a dam bit of difference in the economy or unemployment for years, will suddenly cure all ills if we elect them. Riiiiight.
Gay marriage? Like I care. But I do think they should be able to visit each other in hospitals and get benefits or whatever? Sure why not.
Contraception? Are you outta your dam mind??? Yeah, THAT will get my vote.
All these social issues leave me unimpressed.

The GOP candidates suck. Really, badly.
Obama isn't great but during the last year he's been pretty dam good.
    I'm voting for him.

LibDems may now chime in their agreement.
Libertarians may now make valid points and arguments.
ConservaRepubs may now sling insults and labels. (Except Fitz and a couple others who are actually great debaters!)

Ron Paul is kinda like Jesus Christ. Everyone says Jesus is a swell guy as well. In fact, it seems every religion wants a peice of him to that end. However, they only want a piece of him, not the whole package. They will then slice and dice him and only take what appeals to them and trash the rest. Unfortunately, in doing so what they have really done is trash all of him but they don't seem to recognize this fact. So when the mocking crowds come out to gather, the centurian will say, who shall live? Shall it be Jesus or Barabas? The crowds will yell 100% of the time, "Give us Barabas!".

Edit: If you would write in Barabas instead of Barak I would be very grateful. :xd:

Obama may very well win reelection. In such event things will be exactly the way they are right now. That's what NPA is voting for...the status quo.

This should be enough of an incentive to vote for Ron Paul. He is the only candidate serious about dealing with the deficit. In fact, I'd say he is the only candidate to keep the US out of Iran as well. Even Obama's appointed expert Tim Giethner said that Obama's proposed budget is not sustainable. Heck, even Obama admits the spending is not sustainable. They say this smiling while not doing anything about it. In fact, all they want to do is spend more. So go ahead and cheer on the sidelines as unemployment goes down a few points and the stock market gives you a few more nickles to rub together while America prepares for the riots like they are witnessing in Greece. Of course, the new NDAA legislation will make dealing with the riots much easier, don't you think?

Folks don't realize that Paul centers all stances around a principle. Seeing gray on this or that as opposed to realizing that there is a right or wrong way to do things is the best way to erode any principle, in this case it's liberty.

To be honest, I would like Obama to win, in order to slap the republicans in the face. Figuratively of course. After the GOP canadites this year, they're going to need to rethink a couple of their stragedies.

But hey, I don't really care who wins, they're all the same. They just need to get a party majority in the House and Senate. That's all I care about.

The debt/deficit trumps everything. RP is the only candidate that will bring back fiscal sanity. Anyone that doesn't address this issue head-on is driving this country over the cliff. A second Obama term or anyone else will take our debt to over $20 Trillion. At that point we'll be spending $1 Trillion a year in interest on the debt. What kind of country do you suppose we'll have with that millstone hanging around our neck?

Well any time political supporters start comparing their candidate to Jesus...

I mean, it's one thing when ConservaRepubs get so pissed off and project that Messiah stuff onto Obama because they don't actually like the guy. But when supporters refer to their own guy that way, it's a little more weird. Maybe a lot more.

So since Ron Paul is not my "Jesus", I don't have to accept the stuff that I find just plain stupid. Just like with Obama. There are things I like and things I don't. Overall, I like him best.

Is that what you got out of my post? Now that's just sad.

What I think hilarious is that your little quotes show that you favor Ron Paul about 90% of the time on issues and Obama about 10% of the time. But hey, feel free to vote for him anyway.

NoParty is quite a confused fellow who thinks that Obama actually represents the ideals of his campaign, besides the fact that he lied about everything that he promised and has proven to be nothing more than a crony capitalist neo-con.

    Shame on NoParty.

From what I can gather, he has a hang up on the whole religious right wing. However, what's funny is that Ron Paul simply does not come across that way at all. In fact, he would let gays marry and let him smoke pot if he so likes.

At the other end of the spectrum are the environmentalist moralists. If you don't recycle, you drive an SUV, or live in a large house that needs heated and cooled then you are treated with disdain. They may as well put a scarlet "A" on your chest. But hey, at least they don't mention God when they do it so its all good I guess.

Dude, come on. The fact that he made that many promises in the first place shows that he was a pandering teleprompter buffoon.

The fact that he was hyped by the corporatist media proved that he was a pandering teleprompter buffoon.

The fact that he signed NDAA and continued and expanded the patriot Act proved that he was a teleprompter Authoritarian buffoon.

Every politican makes promises. Not all are kept. And for NDAA and the patriot act, to be fair, these got passed by Congress, in the case of NDAA, with a majority in both houses that would have overidden his veto.

Neh. Per Carl Levin, the white house influenced them to change the NDAA to include American citizens.

Besides, the president creates, signs, and does not sign whatever he wants, haven't you heard? Bush told me.

90%??? Nope. Not even close. And I disagree with the basic tenet of the Libertarian philosophy: The Market does not correct itself. It does not make companies that make dangerous products go away, nor does it have that effect on companies that abuse their employees. I have lived in countries that were as close to Libertarianism as you will find and they suck for the citizens. Although there are over 20 agencies I'd get rid of, I'm really glad there's an SEC, CIA, OSHA, NRC and lots of other Fed agencies. But I do like what he has to say about the war on drugs, giving our money away and several other things.

    Promised Health Reform: Kept.
Promised shift from Iraq to Afghan: Kept.
Promised to pursue the people who attacked us: Exceeded beyond all expectation!
Promised to get us out of all Bush wars when objectives actually met: Kept.
Promise to Fund VA's again: Kept.
Promised to hire more counselors etc... for the Vets: Kept.
    Promised to repeal DADT: Kept.
Promised to get rid mandatory sentecing: Kept
Promised to put more focus, money and manpower into Special Forces and Intel: Kept.

I could go on but the point is clear: On partisan hacks would claim that "Obama lied about everything he promised".

Well not with me. Although I certainly do care about our environment, I am just not certain that man has created Global Warming. I drive a great big gas guzzling Mercedes S Class. I also eat steak, smoke cigars and enjoy a 24 year old scotch once in a while. I'm a Christian and I think Muslims are shown favor and Christians are frequently screwed. I own a Glock 17 that I've had forever and if someone comes in my house at night I will make sure to shout a warning right after the third or fourth shot. Not exactly the politically correct enviro-nazi that you like to paint anyone disagreeing with you out to be, eh?

How do you know Bush? And if the white house did influence it, Congress still passed it with an overwhelming majority.

    Name something 'dam good' ...

    As to the rest:

I didn't have time to read your post but your headline, and this last paragraph suggests you are a very confused voter. The only thing Paul has in common with Obama is that he is weak on defense - doesn't have a clue about it.

Paul wants to take away all federal benefits (& state for that matter). If he had his way, there would be no social security, no medicare, no medicaid, no food stamps, etc. PERIOD.

Obama WANTS everyone to get entitlements and wants to create dependency on government to create a socialist country.

So How you can make a statement like you made in your subject line shows you are very confused IMHO. (respectfully)

You seem to have offered lots of opinions that can be atrributed verbatim to druge, americanthinker and other RW extremist media. And like those sites, seem short on facts or specifics - but are definitely dichotomous in your thinking. You also mention absolutely nothing as to who is better and specifically why.
The easiest way to identify the difference between those who are truly "confused" or influenced and those who think clear is easy. Every president does some things well and some poorly. Those who are "under the influence", and completely unable to acknowledge the positives of "the other side".
What do you think Obama has done well?

So your going to vote for this liar fraud who like Bushwacker, has taken a crap on the constitution of the united states, bows down and gives in to israel as this video proves
    http://www.realzionistnews.com/?p=693

and is here to serve wall street and them instead of us instead of Paul? Nice, one more american sheep to blame for the decline and police state that america is now.no surprise since you covered you ears and closed your eyes when shown that video THE OBAMA DECEPTION that proves how someone would have to be a fool to reelect this guy.

oh and as far as your fantasys that he has pulled us out of Iraq and Afghanistan, keep on living in that fairy tale land,Obama recently asked for 32 billion dollars for the war In Iraq.yep he sure pulled us out of Iraq alright. lol.

Knowing how you can only throw insults when you cant counter facts I know better than to try and bother with you,so i wont even bother with your reply to this, all it will be is insults without admitting the truth and defeat.you wont even address the video on this marxist president of ours THE OBAMA DECEPTION which proves you are afraid of the truth and wont watch it.nice.

Do you have any proof whatsoever that he intends to take those away...especially how he has stated numerous times that he is not eliminating SS/Medicare. As a matter of fact, he has said he is keeping SS and allowing people the option to OPT OUT if they want.

So please provide credible sources for your allegations...
