AGW and the carbon tax are the biggest SCAMS that have been bestowed upon man.

We are still waiting for you to explain how the people behind this "scam" managed to get glacial mass balance to decrease, arctic sea ice to retreat, downward longwave radiation to increase, outgoing radiadion to decrease in the same wavelength bands as absorbed by CO2, stratosperic temperatures to decrease and sea levels to rise right on cue?!?!? Did they also go back in time 100 years and develop the original theory of AGW just to trick everyone?!?!

Why do you keep running away?
    Why cant you answer?

    Dumb,
I do share your opinion quite often, but when it comes to the carbon tax, you are almost obsessed with the subject! Why?
It is already part in some countries, sometimes in different setups, but you fall for the Abbotts opposition scare mongering tactis...............
We need the carbon tax or a direct climate approach, but doing nothing will (*)(*)(*)(*) up this planet, rather sooner then later,

Metal Jocket's reply to the OP above and below Buggsy's reply to Metal Jokets.

Buggs, you have just given us a perfect example of 'intellectual constipation'.
Metal Jockets did not venture any opinion on the content of the video other than to say it was interesting. You have abused and belittled Metal for simply watching the video. You have just displayed bigoted and fanatical behaviour and in doing so, lost all credibility. When you abuse people for simply listening to a different opinion you have become a fanatical, blind extremist and a zealot no longer capable of rational thought on the subject.

I totally agree!! This is NOT the only topic whereby Bugs loses his/her/its credibility by shooting the messenger and not the message; as I have encountered the same radical behaviour on other topics, and the sheer lack of ethics and intellect is the reason why I simply couldn't be bothered debating this person anymore.

I'm hoping if I ignore bugs long enough; him/her/it will "bug" off for good. LOL

Please excust the interuption, but the carbon tax / has the capacity to really hurt this country, so the recognition of reality isn`t necessarily obsession, unless one is attempting to bludgeon a questioner of the new religion into silence. One of the obvious hallmarks of the new AGW religion, is that so many of it`s followers have the "tolerance" of an inquisitor priest.

    Yes. Exactly.

It is a video by the Galileo Movement. An organisation that has Alan Jones as its patron and Andrew Bolt as an "advisor"!!!!

Anyone who would find that "interesting" - but not in a "laughing my arse off" sort of way deserves to be the subject of ridicule.

We do not have a carbon tax. We have an ETS

like, the reality that we don't actually have a carbon tax?

Tolerance is not extended to organisations that have Alan Jones as its patron and Andrew Bolt as an "advisor". They are nut jobs

    one example out of many,
as long as we are digging up coal for export as well as creating our own cheap electricity out of it, without any true efforts in renewables, the carbon tax hopefully hurts...
What was your analogy religion/priest/tolerance for?

Have you any idea of the damage this country would suffer if the coal industry was to be stopped? The mind set of the new AGW religion is identical to roman catholicism during the inquisition, closed minded, fanatical megalomaniacs, incapable of moderation, or introspection, bullying the rest of the population into their way of thinking.

Firstly - no one is suggesting that the coal industry will immediately ground to a halt. Much of Australia's coal is metallurgical coking coal which will continue to be in demand.

However - I suspect you will find that otherwise, a big reduction in the coal industry will have far less impact than Alan Jones has told you.

Actual jobs in the mining industry are fairly insignificant

So, virtually the entire scientific community of the planet are "closed minded, fanatical megalomaniacs, incapable of moderation, or introspection"?!?! But a video made by an organisation that has Alan Jones as its patron and Andrew Bolt as an "advisor" will show us the truth?!?!?

You are almost heretic in your attempts, to compare what should not be compared and your fear, we will go down the drain.
If we do go down the drain, then purely because we have declined to modernize ourselves.
In a country, where we are blessed (to stay within your religious analogys) with sun shine we could easily become one of the worlds biggest producer of solar energy, and replacing the coal fired powerstations sooner than later.
The people who have worked for in the coal mine industry will find jobs in the solar industry.
We are human beings and can learn and adopt, and its never too late for that......
Bring the carbon tax on, please !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Simplistic solutions, to over simplified problems. The "science" of the AGW religion is based on a number of scientists stating that they can`t be sure that climate change ISN`T caused by carbon, NOT many are saying that they`re sure that climate change IS caused by carbon.

AGW is all about money, not the environment. AGW sheeple beat their chests and preach their learned dialogue, of what is to them an impressive array of big, scientific sounding words. My cat can say "hello", I guess she thinks that makes her an intelectual moggy.

    Why did you post:
What exactly did Alan Jones tell you would happen? Would you like to tell the rest of us?

Please tell us about this "damage" that country would suffer by readjusting its economy to be better placed for a renewable energy future.

Come on - how about some details? Do you have any? Or do you need to wait for Alan's next broadcast to tell you what to say?

No - the science of AGW is based on decades of observations and empirical evidence. Much of it is summarised here:

    http://www.ipcc.ch/publications_and_data/publications_and_data_reports.shtml#.T1rgCpjU2JU

I am pretty certain that nowhere in the 4th Assessment Report does it say:

"AGW religion is based on a number of scientists stating that they can`t be sure that climate change ISN`T caused by carbon"

It appears you have posted a lie. You should apologise to the forum for doing that.

No. AGW is all about the increased concentration of atmospheric greenhouse gasses absorbing more thermal radiation and re-emitting towards the planet's surface. This change in energy can be observed and measured, as can the impacts it is causing such as glacial mass-balance decrease, sea level rise, increase in surface temperature, Arctic ice cap decrease and increase in the number and severity of extreme weather events

You really don't understand any of this, do you.

Bugs, once again you display the robotic state of your easily manipulated mind. One indication of the most gullible minds among us, is to be easily brainwashed into shutting out any information supplied by sources that voice opinions contrary to the agenda of their mind controlers.

To completely disregard information supplied by sources, simply on the basis of one`s bigotry against the source, is to confine one`s self to an incomplete and manipulated intelectual process.

    Hey AM

I'm totally with you on bugs behaviour she will just not listen to anything, she has the political blinkers on giving her tunnel vision on this subject and she just cant be told.

If we were all like bugs there would be no need for shock and awe from corrupt governments to undermine democracy and give us whatever the theme of the era is.

Bugs like i keep saying to you, if you think the farming and selling of carbon credits and derivatives on the stock exchange will do anything to stop humans polluting the Earth OR,

If you can believe that a trace gas (CO2) is responsible for AGW, where humans only produce 3% of all CO2 the other 97% comes from natural resources and the temperment of the sun's activities.

If you can believe that by joining the ETS we will be better placed to clean up our own back yard with direct action,

Then i'm afraid mame that you would believe just about anything.

The nazi youth were also brain washed to the point of madness bugs.

Take of your political blinkers and see the world for what it really is, its the only way bugs whther you like it or not.

If anything Alan Jones is the mind controller and people like you are the sheeple following his religion of conservatism and fear.

Disregarding information from Alan Jones is not to confine yourself. It's Alan Jones we are talking about. He doesn't have any credibility to begin with.
