What's going on 'down under'? http://www.buzzfeed.com/gavon/spider-web-forrest-is-beautiful-and-terrifying
Apparently, they are pretty harmless and are doing an awesome job keeping swaths of mosquitoes at bay. But, http://www.abc.net.au/news/2012-03-08/spider-army-descends-on-wagga-in-flood-escape/3877566
Sweet Jesus!!! I instantly regretted clicking on that... Now I'm gonna be itchy all day... That's far worse than the banana spiders in Korea...
Wow, wouldn't want to walk through those fields with shorts on...harmless or not, spiders creep the heck out of me. Although technically not an arachnid, camel spiders are fairly common in the Middle East and I've personally witnessed one of them snap a #2 pencil in half with it's pincers...now that is a bad ass spider, but it's the small venomous ones that really creep me out.
You'd have to torch the whole lot really. No wonder they have forest fires. Who could resist? Or spray it with a jet spray. Are they poisonous?
I sooo agree. I was thinking the exact same thing. And then set it ablaze. Yes, at least to the mind.
It's not like these little guys are running you down and attacking you..I'm not afraid of anything I can see, including spiders..and snakes..
And spiders are actually very useful because they keep the harmful bugs down. So really, I don't know where our hate comes from against them. I guess it is like hating black people, Gypsies, and republicans.
My goodness..you just said you hated blacks, gypsies and Republicans..and don't try to back out of it..How else would you know what it was like..? You are one of those psychotic liberals I keep hearing about.. ..I hope you have sweet dreams about vampire spiders attacking you tonight..
No, that was before I put the gun at my head and shot myself. Now I hate democrats too. I think I should just go with public rats and forget the re- and democ- parts. Can I have a liberat?
When I was a kid, I was hitch hiking from Honolulu to Kailua (across the Pali) it was dusk and I was walking backwards with my thumb out...I felt a squish on my right foot (I was barefooted)...I looked down and saw that my foot was black...I squated down for a better look (it was dusk) and me foot was covered in baby spiders...I stepped on a dam Cane Spider..those babies get to be 4" wide..Now I'm itchy just thinking about it..
(*)(*)(*)(*), I'm itchy reading about it... I probably would've sat down in the road & cried...lol After moving far away, of course...
My biggest fear was, it was getting darker and I still had no shoes and where there's one Cane Spider...there's bound to be others...
I was driving in the deserts of Arizona, and a large "caravan," for lack of a better word, of tarantulas were crossing the road ahead of me...I'd estimate easily over 20 or so on my side of the road... Made this odd popping sound as my tires hit a few of them... Now before folks think this was intentional...that I was aiming for them; it's pitch black outside, and headlights only see so far ahead...I was on them before I saw them. I had no idea they travelled in packs, but one theory is that they migrate as they search for mates. I sure as (*)(*)(*)(*) wouldn't want to be walking barefoot around a bunch of large hairy spiders with big fangs.
