Obama wants record gas prices to force people to buy cars they do not want.

With oil prices going through the roof why would Obama want to increase prices even more. Doing away with subsidies will mean the money lost will be made back on the consumer increase in price.

Obama want to use money saved for more failed green research.

This is another sign that Obama does not care about the poor or the middle class

Profit is a good thing, not a bad thing. It means more can go into research and hiring more people. Then there are other jobs that crop up around that hiring even more people...

It will be Obama's fault for high prices if he does this

Oil companies are also looking at alternative fuels to expand their profit sources

Good for Obama, we have been giving out welfare to oil companies for far too long. End the corporate welfare and put the money back into the hands of the middle class.

So you want to tax oil companies twice for foreign profits?

I just want the tax breaks and oil subsisidies eliminated for them. 42 billion in profit is enough money.

Ah comrade ptif219 handing out hard earned tax dollars to the friends of the administration in a clearly marxist/socialist/lefty plan to install a far left dictatorship.

Uh huh, tax breaks that leave the US should be repealed? Sure, makes sense that you would HATE for something like that to happen. The ONLY way oil companies make money is because of tax breaks. Okay. Didn't know any of this.

MUCH of that profit goes into paying retirement/investment account dividends...if you had more than a burger flipping type job, you'd know that.

LOL no it doesn't it goes into the company account where the executives pay themselves bonus'. Then they jsut hoard the rest.

See profit means money left over AFTER expenses.

And I dont flip burgers thank you very much. I know in ignorant conservative land if you're not a CEO you're a socialist for wanting more money.

thankfully the country is swinging left at a lightning pace.

You want to see them fold, admit it. Then you can laugh about it as you walk to work.

You knew exactly what he meant but desired to point out a spelling error rather than engage the discussion.

Oil companies don't need tax breaks, subsidizing, or any other form of government loop hole to conduct their business.

These types of tax breaks, and those issued to alternative energy companies are simply the "payback" from politicians.

They have you all in a cheerleading competition against each other which apparently causes you to fail to see that they are duping you.

Look at what kind of profit, percentage-wise, oil companies make compared to say Apple or Google or a bank. If you think oil companies are greedy, wake up.
