Any law that gives the President the power to order Catholics to commit a mortal sin is inherently evil.

Catholics cannot comply with Obama's tyrannical orders and will go to jail rather than comply.

Let's hope it doesn't come to this.

Who or what is it that would give Obama such power?

you realize the catholic churches don't have to offer contraception. if they don't, the insurance company has to. there you go, no more moral conflict of interest.

Yes, I am, so why don't you answer the question or post a link instead of disparaging your President just for the joy of it.

He is not my President. He is an illegal alien who was smuggled into this country from Kenya and stole the social security number of a gentleman born in 1870.

Many Catholic institutions are self-insured. Problem NOT solved by shifting to insurers.

I think that says it all. And why not, with 99% of Republican supports on this forum agreeing with you or alternatively to gutless to respond to such a ludicrous statement.

Religion tends to complicate whatever it affects. The alleged conflict you describe above is simply more justification for a single payer system.

No one is ordering catholics to use birth control. The fact is that a good amount of catholics do not follow the church's ban on contraception. These catholics, if they happen to be church employees, will get contraception covered by insurance. It's realy none of the church's business, since they are not paying for it. I do however, thing that it should only be covered when it comes to legit medical needs, and not for simple birth control.

Ok, there needs to be a good discussion on what the terms "freedom", "rights", "consent" and "voluntary" actually mean because some folks are forgetting that these issues involve multi-party agreements and contracts. It seems as though the focus is always on the party demanding a benefit at the expense of the party that is to provide the benefit. The provider in these examples has no rights??

They do, but not at the expense of another persons right. If they want to opt out as self-insurers, fine. Their employee's then have a right to find insurance elsewhere.

Again, I ask, what is the problem?

Catholics make me laugh they hide child molesters in their church! Yet they get mad about birth control? Sorry I am just really confused about this are Catholics saying they never used birth control! The hypocrisy in all this is funny. Then again hypocrisy and religion go hand in hand. My thought is the Catholic church need to clean their dirty closet before they go after a law that was changed.

I'm not sure. I was just answering this. You brought up the the Rights concept so I assumed you had something to argue. My apologies if you were just rambling.

Not that I disagree, exactly, but where were you whenever the government ordered someone to die, or kill?

Besides, I don't think that paying for insurance that might contribute to the cost of contraception counts as a mortal sin. Or any kind of sin.

Correction; the law gives the President the power to order Catholics to give other people the option of commiting a mortal sin. Granted, the catholic church could protect itself by simply not engaging in secular activities...

An idle threat, to be sure.

Sounds perfectly plausible. Personally, I think he is a Martian spy sent by the KGB to rid the world of pigs.

When Hillary Care was running its course the GOP loved Obama Care.

    Romney still loves Obama care.

Obama will get govt run single payer passed in his second term, you can bank on it.

Unless the Catholic Church itself is running the insurance company, I don't see how this is an issue.
