There was a thread not to long ago speculating that Trayvon's purchase was possibly to concoct a brew of "purple drank" also called "lean" or "sizzurp". I thought it was a pretty thin stretch, and was probably just aimed at further denigrating a dead kid. I thought it was imaginative, but pretty unlikely since he bought tea... and skittles is big leap to lean.

Then I saw that it wasn't "iced tea" but Arizona Watermelon. I thought he was high, and just had the munchies... but it bothered me that he would walk there, at night, in the rain, and not be consuming them on the way home. Of course I am lazy... if I am walking someplace for food, it is because I am hungry, or they are ingredients. Then I came across the following...

Now... some things to be noted about DXM abuse... it's a dissociative drug, and the effects are similar to that of PCP. Often not recognizing pain etc.

    http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/dxm/faq/dxm_side_effects.shtml

And then I think about the 53 minutes between his checkout at the 7/11 and the half mile distance to his house... and I wonder... was Trayvon possibly under the effects of DXM, preparing to make more as it wore off? It is of course wild speculation still... but I felt an interesting enough theory to broach.

There are several sites which promote this theory, it is not unique... I just hadn't really given much credence till I saw the facebook stuff.

Where's the trace evidence of this drug? I am not looking through the files on this case. I was merely curious. If no one has it (aside from linking to 183 pages) then that's okay. I don't want to read it that badly.

The toxicology report was not in there, just a brief excerpt in a half page case summary showing THC. The autopsy report simply says: "See separate report from NMS Laboratory" that is not in the documents.

Thank you for the non-droll response. I appreciate the explanation.

Wow, those kids should get scholarships to become chemists. I barely know how to make a cup of coffee. They are making designer drugs. That's impressive even if their grammar isn't.

NP. I think it is interesting that the then 16 year old (a year ago next month according to facebook) wanted to stop smoking weed and transition to lean instead because it was too "roped".

I misplaced my maybe-I-am-the-sweet-12-yr-old-on-the-news-but-seem-to-portray-mysefl-as-a-thug phrasebook. Can someone translate that for me?

Okay, not that I think that being high on lean means he should have died, because that is no excuse.

My comment is because I just came to the realization that those imbeciles in the DC schools just handed out a partial recipe for lean to kids. Ohhhhh, wow. Wow.

They are in Florida. One good rain and they can head out to the cow pastures for shrooms. Why bother with this (*)(*)(*)(*)?

Purple drank is the (*)(*)(*)(*). I highly recommend it. I mean 20 to 30 mg of percs will do just fine but it is fun to mix it up sometimes.

It is so funny watching people who have never done any of these drugs act like they know anything about it.

You are correct but it depends on what you are looking for. An opiate high is pretty sweet.

It is funny to watch addicts deny the effects of different combinations of drugs on different people.
"I do it, and I'm fine".

When I drink I am happy go lucky. I make jokes. Some people drink and want to fight everyone in the room.

There is a difference between drug use and drug abuse.

Is this your gateway drug of choice then? I hope you understand that none of the focus on Trayvon Martin's drug abuse is meant to build a case against Trayvon, but to destroy the case against Zimmerman.

That doesn't read like casual use to me. It reads like a "standby" abuse that is changed on occasion... but really... I shouldn't be discussing your personal drug use. It could be construed as an attack, when my motivation would just be a bit of a reality check.

All drug use is drug abuse. What you are exhibiting by saying that is what is commonly known as "denial".

You don't strike me as someone who has a lot of experience with drugs so I'm not sure you are experienced enough to comment on it in the first place.

Ummm....no it is not. That is your opinion but that doesn't really hold any weight.

I am sure he meant recreational drug use... and he is right.

So you advocate its use in 16/17 yr old kids? Or... you just attempting to distract from the focus of the thread to jump up and down and yell "look at me"?

My personal experience is really not relevant.

Is it your contention that people who aren't infected with AIDS have no business looking for a cure? They just aren't experienced enough to speak on the subject?

Quite the declaration you've got there. Someone should alert the pharmaceutical industry.
