Clearly, the beloved leader decides all american businesses owe a huge favor to the government — not that huge, just the fact that business are under constant subsidizing of the govt., they are graced upon with govt. money not the other way around... and above all...

people don't build or start businesses, govt. does!

He said that business creation was a result of individual initiative combined with working together, which is absolutely true. He didn't say government owns all means of production. You're just so wrapped up in this us against them mentality that's what you heard.

Dave, your point of view is interesting to me. I imagine you must be young and idealistic, or else you never worked to build a business a day in your life. Of course a business needs society to operate, but that doesn't mean that society did anything to build my business. Customers did help me build my business, but not without me putting in the work to get those customers. Government may have built the roads, and pipelines, and tried their best to educate our employees, but they couldn't have done that without the tax dollars that I paid on the revenue that I worked 12 hours a day, 7 days a week for. You may be forgetting as well that it is government that has enacted inumerable regulations and needless hurdles that have not only raised the cost of doing business but made it even more difficult to build a successful business. Just try to remember that when all is said and done, it is the hard work of the individual that builds innovation and success, not government. Business are built and are successful in spite of the government.

 

Did you build the store all yourself? Did you survey the land and excavate the lot yourself? Did you put up the steel and brick yourself? Drywall it all by yourself? Run all the electricity by yourself?
