Which party was it that freed the Blacks from slavery?
And which party was it that tried to keep the Blacks enslaved?
The Democratic Party would prefer that African Americans not know the answer.

Which party did the racists who want to return to segrgation join when it became clear that the Democrats were making integration the official position of the party?

Which party did the POTUS who ordered integration of the Army belong to?

    Think about it.

False allegations. No wonder you failed to back up any of your statements with any facts. Truman ordered the desegregation, but did nothing to enforce that order. Eisenhower actually integrated the military. Segregation was in the democrats official party platform and was never a policy of any republican platform. Lies in the place of facts do not advance your cause.

"Our blacks are so much better than their blacks. To become a black Republican, you don't just roll into it. You're not going with the flow...and that's why we have very impressive blacks in the Republican party."

Both parties are very liberal.... The quote posted above.... How did these animals allow that ugly monster become one their spokes persons? She really proves how stupid people are... And the fact that she is used really shows how stupid both parties are. It's just sickening.

Which Party do the resident Racists here belong to, The Republican Party? Does that mean they should really be Democrats or does it mean that someone here does not know which Party here tries to help minorities and which Party believes minorities are lazy leeches. Claim whatever you want, the voices of the the right and left are here and on other boards for you to read and that reality cannot be ignored.

For a new guy wet behind the ears, you sure are off to a terrible start here. Any and all black notables residing in the Republican party are just like dear Ann described--IMPRESSIVE! Can't say that about the lib members of the communist black congress caucus, or of the race baiting racists al aharpton or jessie jackson.

Well, I can only speak for myself and say that I have defended marxist economic positions against a "free-market" keynesian social progressive in the economics section. I think that alone would disqualify me from joining the Republican Party.

Does this look like something a Republican Party member would post?

Today's Republican party isn't Lincoln's Republican party. The modern Republican party has become the party of racists and other intolerant groups of people. Just compare the number of minorities in congress from both parties, and that difference becomes crystal clear. It also shouldn't be a surprise that the first non-White president was a Democrat.

A public relations gimmick, I am sure. Democrats are fond of sticking people in office because of their race. If that's not racism, I'm not sure what is. Republicans have consistently refused to use race as a factor, and as a result their membership is, inconviently for them, not "diverse enough". It's not their fault they cling to their principles and refuse to stoop to the Democrat's dirty level of manipulating race to appeal to ignorant or self-centered voting groups.

No race should be put into a specific Political Party. That has been a problem with all people of color and their political affiliation. The Republican and Libertarian Parties need to better convey their desire for African American, Hispanic and Asian persons to run for Republican Offices, join the party and help shape the party to express their beliefs. All Republican voters should do everything possible to promote changes in the Party that help to represent the needs of all groups of people. This is what our Party was founded on. We have allowed the Democrats, Socialists and the Communist Party of America to persuade non-whites that they are best for them when clearly they have done nothing that these various groups need and want. Just my opinion and what I believe from what I have observed in the past 20 years.

All that occurred over 150 years ago.

    Let's fast forward to today:

    Democratic Party Chairs:

    Republican Party Chairs:

And new minority freshmen in Congress:

    Notice anything?

But yeah, let's keep pretending that:

    1) You actually give a rats ass that the slaves were freed.
    2) The Southern Democrats fled to the Republican Party right after the Civil Rights Act was passed.

That really isn't relevant. It was the conservative south that refused to give up slavery, and the liberal north that put an end to it. Conservatives started making the transition from the Democrat Party to the Republican Party shortly after FDR, JFK, and LBJ. They felt like liberals were taking over the party... and LBJ's Civil Right's bills really pissed them off.
