Gallup: Unemployment drops to new low at 7.6%

    Gallup, the independent polling company, registered a new low unemployment rate since it began tracking unemployment in January 2010 -- 7.6%.

    Gallup's figures are not seasonally adjusted, but the drop is consistent with the BLS unemployment rate dropping to 7.8% as reported last Friday, and is further indication that the employment picture continues to slowly improve.

    Last year at this time the Gallup unemployment rate stood at 8.6%.

    I bet the 7.8% unemployment will put a smile on the 26 million that still don't have jobs. But we should celebrate anyways and re-elect the turd in the WH.

    You statement is false. It happens when your world view comes from right wing propaganda. About 12 million are unemployed today, down from about 15 million.

    yep, way to spin good news as bad, has America ever had a zero percent unemployment rate? so you could pretty much say that at anytime in our history

    there will always be some that want to attack any good news that might give a bump to this economy

    like it or not folks, perception shapes reality in the economic world, and some it seems want to harm America by trying to attack any resemblance of good news that might increase that perception of our economy

    I dont get it.

    Why didnt obama just come out with a 4% unemployment rate? 7.6 is still way too high.

    hey now, don't attack people that gain success by shipping jobs overseas, all that matters is they are a success, the harm they do to Americans doesn't mater..... we should in fact reward them for this success with huge tax cuts... </end sarcasm>

    When Barack Obama signed an executive order that removed the work requirement from Welfare recipients.... he just artificially changed the number so that willing idiots will run around spreading propaganda on the "improvement".

    You cannot only gain 115,000 and decrease the unemployment number. 150,000 is required just to break even.

    Which goes prove one thing.Birther's were right all along.The Fix is in and
    has been,now more than ever for anything Pro-Obama.
    If not then someone explain why under this disatrous Presidency Not one single
    thing about Obama's reign has been taken to task as a negative.
    Why ALL those War Protests disappeared.Not one mention of any casualty count.

    Who said gain of 115,000? This is Gallup polling, not the BLS.

    Sounds like the political stalement in Washington is doing amazing things for the country.

    The unemployment rates just continue to drop while the dopes in DC do nothing to get in the way.

    Keep doing nothing DC, and by 2016, the unemployment rate will be under 5%.
