How bizarre. Stay tuned for more details as this story plays out. How ironic would it be for a meteor to hit an underground storage facility for explosives?

Webster S.O. confirms bunker explosion at Camp Minden

WEBSTER PARISH, LA (KSLA) -The Webster Parish Sheriff's Office confirms an underground bunker exploded late last night at Camp Minden. There are no reports of any injuries or deaths. The explosion site was discovered right at sun-up.

Chief Deputy Bobby Igo says the bunker belongs to a company called Explo. Authorities said they will have more information at a 9 a.m. news conference at Camp Minden.

Igo says the underground bunkers are designed to send any blast up instead of out to lessen the shock wave impact.

State Police, the Webster Parish Sheriff's Office and the military will investigate exactly what happened.
Earlier in the morning, Sheriff Gary Sexton said there was a "possibility that a meteor did hit the ground" in the area, but deputies had not pinpointed an exact location.

KSLA News 12 viewer Shana Levick tells us she was driving on I-20 by Dixie Inn when she saw the sky light up a bright orange color. She said she could see what appeared to be small fire sparks above the tree lines.
Another witness near Dixie Inn told KSLA News 12 photographer Cody Jennings that he saw something flash across the sky streaming from the west or southwest direction. That witness also reported seeing a bright flash that lasted for a while.

Late last night and into this morning, we began hearing from people who heard the explosion just before 11:30 p.m. from areas including: Minden, Doyline, Haughton, South Bossier and Shreveport. Callers are also reporting seeing a bright light flash in the sky when they heard the boom.

This story is developing. We will update this story as we learn more.

    Some comments from locals:

"Not to worry...That was the sound of the Obama campaign crashing to earth. It's happening all over the country..."

"I was getting out of the car to go into my job at Ron-pak on dougattaway Drive in shreveport, walked in checked on the time, the time was 9:28pm walked out the door to talk to a friend looked up saw a glowing fire read ball flying over the building crossing over red river headed iin the direction of medin thought it burned out right above tree line but maybe not. "

"I do not think a bunker explosion would be felt all the way in Blanchard. I also do not think it would have showed up on radar as something in the atmosphere. I think it was a meteor. The news just posted 2 days ago that one came close to the earth and was a close call but did not hit earth. They waited to make sure it did not hit earth before they posted it on the news for some reason. Could have been it was still in orbit around the earth and actually came down a few days later. Maybe it hit the bunker but I do not believe it was just a bunker explosion from what I felt this far away from that bunker."

You seem to be the only person who brings up the "Jews" on every thread.

Scary stuff. Hope they're able to pinpoint the cause and fix it.
