I just got this thing in the mail talking about a "national silver bailout program" and sending out "5 free bars of silver." It took some digging, but I finally found that they're offering to send me 5 grams of silver (in individual 1-gram "bars"), which are presently worth about $1.05 each according to http://www.buyinggoldandsilver.com/language/en-us/prices/silver-price-per-gram.aspx , for "free" plus $9.95 shipping.

I wonder how many people fall for this stuff? They also claim there's a 72-hour limit to get that precious silver, which of course is there to create a sense of urgency in the recipient and try to garner an impulsive response.. Ugh. I hate scammers.
