I've never had a problem with social programs per se, but my thing is that they must be rehabilitative in nature, must not encourage the same type of behavior that leads one to poverty, must be limited in some fashion, and must be nearly fraud proof. Not many of our programs stack up to these reasonable measures.

Sorry, but no. I am sure there are people both rich and poor, like this person, that are the 'problem', so please be fair when you judge people.

And I cannot advocate limiting assistance for poor people with children unless we ALSO restrict their ability to HAVE children. Otherwise we have masses of poor, starving children, or children that we have to find foster homes or orphanages for (Keep in mind, WE PAY FOR ORPHANAGES).

There are some who will always need some help or may need it later on and stay on it - disabled come to mind like me my state placed me in Medicaid under state rules I must be low income AND to disabled to do "meaningful activity and/or employment" as per the SSI standard. And I have to have also applied for SSI to apply for Medicaid. In fact they determined I'm unemployable due to multiple medical issues all chronic and irreparable. A huge boost for my SSI case.

I'm not getting rich if I get SSI but that with other help and private programs will sustain me at a basic level, is that asking so much?
