So we got the news the other day. Our little broodling still within my wife has an umbilical cord with only 2 vessels instead of the usual 3. Apparently they are at an increased risk for a number of things like down syndrome and such, as well as organ development.

Just curious if anybody has any experience with this or knows the topic in depth. What should I as a husband and father expect from this? What precautions should we be taking?

I suppose your wife could just get an abortion to be on the safe side. :p

Most of the time, though, the baby will still turn out to be perfectly normal.

    Blech...:puke:

Well that is comforting. From the reading I have done, all it does is increase risk, it isn't a guarantee that the sky is falling. So, we'll just hope and pray for the best.
