I think anyone living in Colorado should move to Kansas.

    Unenforceable.

But it allows the KS Governor to appeal to the conservative voters of the state.

what is sad is that the 2nd amendment is clear and state laws should not need to be enacted to stop federal over-reach.. States can enact their own laws because states are supposed to have more power.

Yea, he also signed a bill saying Kansas will not accept Sharia law, as if....

Pandering to hysterical fearmongering is all this is.

    - - - Updated - - -

You think the party that works exclusively for the rich and corporate america gives a (*)(*)(*)(*) about your consitutional rights? You don't have any rights in american you can't pay for.

Keep on with that illusion there....

I will also add that Brownback has eliminated state income tax on the states richest citizens and businesses and is working to shift the tax burden to the lower and middles classes. He's also working to eliminate unions in Kansas so the working man no longer has a say in government. This while the states richest citizens and corporations have exclusive access to the governors office, a priviledge the lower and middle classes cannot afford. Businesses actually brag about how they can "buy" legislation in kansas exempting them from taxes.

Cheer him on, but Brownback is as dispicable and anti american as they come. Iroinc though how the 2nd amendment may actually be what brings him down when the people revolt.

I believe that our Second Amendment clearly enumerates what is necessary to the security of a free State.

Can the sovereign State of Kansas explain why our Second Amendment secures any rights in poverty in the class called Arms; when our federal Congress is delegated the social Power of Arming the Militia of the United States?

State Constitutions already secure rights in private property and that remedy is already available via federal precedent regarding inalienable or indefeasible rights to even controversial forms of private property.

Therefore, our Second Amendment simply Exempts Individual Persons of the People who are specifically connected with militia service, from State laws regarding gun control in favor of a federal prescription for wellness of regulation by our federal Congress,.

States don't get to define the constitution.

    We know when; NEVER.

Because we will NOT ALLOW IT, not because the Left isn't trying to do it.

    - - - Updated - - -

States can affect rules regarding the application of the Constitution, such as yelling "Fire" in a theater is NOT protrected by the st Amendment, etc.

The Kansas ruling SUPPORTS the Constitution, as it is WRITTEN.

Every state should do this. The 2nd amendment must be protected. It is the right of any non-felon non-mentally ill citizen to bear arms.

That said, I've yet to see a bill proposed that would infringe upon that right. Background checks for all gun purchases is just common sense.

He rejects federal funding that helps the working folks and begs for federal funding that benefits the states big moneyed interests.

It is nice to see someone in Government actually looking to follow the U.S. Constitution.

Good for Kansas. This guy's re-election is a lock.

They aren't going to be taken away because people continue to resist repeated attempts by progressives to ban and confiscate and register them.

No one has attempted to take away guns. Your shotguns and handguns have always been there and always will, there has been an assault weapons ban only.

    Again, more nonsense.

It doesn't need to be "enforced", it needs to be complied with, which is a simple matter of not cooperating with Federal authorities.

It sets a standard for local law enforcement officials. It says do not cooperate with Federal authorities in the enforcement of unconstitutional statutes. Without the assistance of local law enforcement, Federal officials are lost in the sauce...

    You are being purposely obtuse.

Handguns were banned in Chicago and Washington DC for decades.

You just contradicted your own premise. First you say "no one has attempted to take away guns" and then you admit that people have already banned "assault weapons"...

    Oh, the irony!

it almost seems like Kansas is trying to sneak up on the fight between New Mexico, North Carolina, and Texas for craziest state in the United States.

Then put your money where your mouth is and tell us when this national gun seizure is going to take place. Let me save you some suspense, it is not going to happen, hence the waste of taxpayer money in KS.

But not for lack of trying. Progressives have been banning and attempting to ban firearms for decades.

Then you should put California in the mix because they are going against the feds by making pot legal.
