Meet Steve Howard, the Imperial Wizard of the North Mississippi White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan. "Hes one of the estimated 8,000 Klan members in the United States, loudly proclaiming their racial hatred and demand for segregation" http://www.sbs.com.au/dateline/story/about/id/601672/n/Inside-the-Klan Last night I watched this on the Australian Network. It appears the Ku Klux Klan is once again gaining support in the Deep South. Here is an excerpt of the report. http://www.sbs.com.au/dateline/story/watch/id/601672/n/Inside-the-Klan
Not really surprising in Mississippi, its a horrible racist and horrible poor state. They are far behind the rest of the country. Like alot of the south.
US population - 313,900,000 KKK members in the US - 8,000 (about 0.003% of the population). There are more members of Communist political parties in the US than there are members of the KKK - very relevant group I'd say they are. Not to mention they have the highest percentage of black population out of all the states. So wouldn't that make them one of the most 'diverse' states?
If you combine all Communist political parties then the numbers would definitely be higher than that of KKK organizations.
How many communist parties are there in the US and how many are actually registered? A bit of homework for you.
The KKK is no longer a threat because Republicans hold most positions of power in the South and they will not tolerate the KKK's shenanigans.
What makes you think Republicans will tolerate it if KKK breaks the law? Did anything happen to make you think so? You do realize that during its hey dey, the KKK was the terrorist arm of the Democrat party? Now that Southern whites are mostly Republican, the KKK should no longer present much of a problem.
That slime ball Trent Lott actually attends some of their conventions. True, he addresses the more genteel posers among them, but they are still KKKrap in business suits.
Some republicons in elected office were originally KKKrap Democrats, prior to the shift in demographics under Nixon's Southern Strategy.
