Cheerios commerical with mixed-race couple draws attention

So, who could be offended by this commercial? Racial hatred is alive and well in America, and the internet is a great place to observe it. Especially if you don't believe it's happening.

 

It's pretty pathetic that people are actually up in arms about this. But they are not racist since racism doesn't exist in America today right?

I agree with you on the up in arms aspect, but who says there's no racism in America today? There is racism coming from all directions and to all directions.

 

You would be surprised who thinks this way.

 

Ah yes, the empowerment of the anonymity of the internet.

It allows meathead racists so sit at home, or the spare room in their mother's single wide in Alabama, and hurl their vitriol at such meaningful things like a Cheerios commercial.

Hard to believe that in this day and age their are still people around who are so (*)(*)(*)(*)ing ignorant that they harbor the sorts of views that lead them to attack a Cheerios commercial.

 

I wonder who is up in arms? Even here in the Deep South mixed race couples are not all that unusual these days.

 

I heard about this a week or so ago and had to watch the commercial again to notice that it was a mixed race family, it didn't register. The first thing I heard was that the comments on the YouTube page were so awful that they had to close comments. It is sick.

 

Let's be honest here. If the commercial had been depicting reality, the father wouldn't have been there at all.

the only problem i have with the video is its feminist propaganda agenda behind it, the father looks to be lazy sleeping on the couch while the mother writing and working at the table.

 

The internet is a lot like driving. In your car if somebody cuts you off you will say any and everything. If you were walking and somebody bumped into you, you would smile, they would apologize and you would be on your way. People are cowards when there are no consequences.

Yes, you see though, my stereotype of racists is not racially derogatory. I mock their stupidity, their slang, their terminology if you will. Racism is a moral and intellectual failure. Being black is a the result of melanin content in ones skin.

 

My problem with most of the "multicultural" nonsense ads are they seem to love making blacks heroes and making whites idiots. Look at the stupid State Farm ads, every white (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*) is portrayed like a schmuck. This ad is just pandering to the fat lonely white girls with no future except pumping out mulato chiltins for fun and profit.

The media have been doing that to blacks for 100 years. Get over it. I did.

Within the black community you have good people and bad people, like any other community.

true but it seems as if the black culture has adopted some very bad role models along the way when you look at the hard statistics for violence and the family unit. As I frequently point out black on black violence kills far more blacks in a year than the KKK did during Jim Crow. The good people in the black community need admit to then address their problems instead of looking for excuses
