when you look at the level hatred and hostility directed at Jews over thousands of years one has to wonder how they keep their Love and Peaceful intent alive and well..

What a a strong and wonderful people to survive this and still be able to give so much to society and the world in so many endeavours.

what gives them this strength to be able to do this.

i grew up in montreal and worked at two different grocery stores owned by Holocaust survivors. Mom and pop stores.

They were so generous and understanding, never mean or rude…their kids all grew up to become doctors and lawyers and really fine citizens.

so why?? how could this be…

You look at how they take care of their own…
unlike so many countries in the mid east where the rulers have their children grow to know only hatred and the want for war…

How I see it is that Jewish people have a crucial "thread" that allows them stay together as a people, even when scattered across the globe. Perhaps its because they don't hold the bitterness, blind anger and vengence and hatred---that will destroy a people. Instead they go through terrible trials and then get productive. I don't entirely understand it and I see it as God's hand. I can't figure out what really holds them together---their beliefs are not tangible to me and so diverse that to practice Judaism can mean almost anything......And usually it is the belief system that is the glue---but there is something else going on.
