I am not sure that Goodwin's law really applies when it comes to ME politics since Israel was born out the Nazi eugenics and racial superiority stuff. Calling a moderator for some action or someone who supports a policy with which you disagree a Nazi for something is more along the lines of what he meant I think. I have never been offended if someone uses it in an analogy no matter what the subject, just as long as it is not a direct attack on the person. As for Zionist, it just depends on how it is used. Anyone who supports a Jewish state is technically a Zionist, and I read somewhere that there is actually a sect of orthodox Jews in Israel who oppose an Israeli state because of scripture.
