In 1947, the United Nations voted to create a Jewish and an Arab state in Palestine.

UN Resolution 181 is the basis of Arab calls for an independent State of Palestine in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, but they must also recognize that this same resolution calls for the creation of a Jewish State.

I think the most we can expect is a statement by the Palestinians that they formally recognize the State of Israel, set out as a Jewish state by UN resolution 181, which will guaruntee and respect the full equal rights of all citizens, Jew and non-Jew.

This is why initial "two states for two peoples" gradually decreased to "two states". Hypocrisy prevails in politics.

The two state solution, with Arabs getting some 85% of the Mandate where Jews are denied rights, hasn't worked, so why do these hypocrites think a three state solution is some sort of clever solution???

Of course they will recognize a Jewish state. They offered to do so in the spring of 2002..

Does Israel have any borders yet?

Jordan has already accepted thousands of Palestinian refugees since 1947.

Jordan has also expelled thousands of faux 'Palestinians' since 1947. They went on to amuse themselves by butchering Lebanese for fun and profit.

Those were Christians armed by Israel who butchered the old men, women and children of Sabra and Shatilla.

Sharon kept the women and children penned up (surrounded) so they could be killed.. He betrayed Reagan.

Sharon and the IDF battled in Beirut while those Cristhian groups were entered Sabra and Chatila and murdered the people there.

Israel never was part of what happened in Sabra and Chatila, and of course never armed those groups.

Israel did arm the Christian Phalangists.. They intended to overthrow the Lebanese government and install a mid-level Christian military officer.

The PLO had been attacking Israel from southern Lebanon and Israel had been bombing PLO positions in southern Lebanon since the early 70s.[17]

On 3 June 1982 an assassination attempt was made upon Israeli Ambassador to Britain Shlomo Argov. The attempt was the work of Abu Nidal, who headed a group rival to Arafat's PLO. Even though the PLO was not involved in the assault, and condemned it, Israel used it as a justification to break a ceasefire then in force with the group, and as a casus belli for a full-scale invasion of Lebanon.[18]

On 6 June 1982, Israel invaded Lebanon moving northwards to surround the capital, Beirut.[19] Following an extended siege of the city, the fighting was brought to an end with a U.S.-brokered agreement between the parties on 21 August 1982, which allowed for safe evacuation of the Palestinian fighters from the city under the supervision of Western nations and guaranteed the protection of refugees and the civilian residents of the refugee camps.[19]

On 23 August 1982, Bachir Gemayel, who was very popular among Maronites, was elected President of Lebanon by the National Assembly. Israel had relied on Gemayel and his forces as a counterbalance to the PLO, and as a result, ties between Israel and Maronite groups had grown stronger.[20][21][22]

By 1 September, the PLO fighters had been evacuated from Beirut under the supervision of Multinational Force.[5][23] The evacuation was conditional on the continuation of the presence of the MNF to provide security for the community of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon.[5] Two days later the Israeli Premier Menachem Begin met Gemayel in Nahariya and strongly urged him to sign a peace treaty with Israel. According to some sources,[24] Begin also wanted the continuing presence of the SLA in southern Lebanon (Haddad supported peaceful relations with Israel) in order to control attacks and violence, and action from Gemayel to move on the PLO fighters which Israel believed remained a hidden threat in Lebanon. However, the Phalangists, who were previously united as reliable Israeli allies, were now split because of developing alliances with Syria, which remained militarily hostile to Israel. As such, Gemayel rejected signing a peace treaty with Israel and did not authorize operations to root out the remaining PLO militants.[25]

On 11 September 1982, the international forces that were guaranteeing the safety of Palestinian refugees left Beirut. Then on 14 September, Gemayel was assassinated in a massive explosion which demolished his headquarters. Eventually, the culprit, Habib Tanious Shartouni, a Lebanese Christian, confessed to the crime. He turned out to be a member of the Syrian Social Nationalist Party and an agent of Syrian intelligence. Palestinian and Muslim leaders denied any connection to him.[26]

    continued.

Well, there is no room for a contiguous Palestinian state with Jewish only settlements and Jewish only roads. It saddens me as I hoped I would see some solutions in my lifetime.

I look at the plight of the Negev Bedouin and the Palestinians in the West Bank.. Shaaba Farms and the Golan Heights. Its too late to make it right.

well, to be honest, the roads aren't "Jew-only". They are only for cars with Israeli license plates.

    NONSENSE.

Both Jordan and Egypt have recognized the "jewish state" of Israel.
Saudi Arabia has REPEATEDLY stated that it is willing to recognize the jewish state of Israel.

Its the PALESTINIANS that don't want to accept the jewish state of Israel.
And for damn sure its the neo-zionists who don't want any part of a palestinian state in the wb and gaza.
