New Age Communities can print local currencies finance films that address problems?!

At this time I tend to believe that New Age Groups may be the most likely to successfully initiate local currencies and use them to finance film projects in which homeless people could become actors playing the role of homeless people.... .which could easily finance their buying or renting homes????!!!!

City in Austria Printed Local Currency

Worgl, like many other European towns and cities, was hit hard by the Great Depression. There was mass unemployment; four of the five local factories had closed, and the people were starving in the streets. Nobody had any money to buy anything. One of the features of an economic depression is that there is not enough money in circulation to ensure that people can meet their basic needs, and in the 1930s, the shortage of currency in many countries of the world became catastrophic.

The mayor of Worgl, together with local businessmen, decided to try to break this economic impasse by creating their own local currency. They printed and issued 60,000 Austrian shillings worth of local currency. These shillings could only be spent in Worgl, so they remained in the local community and were exchanged over and over again.

The positive impact was immediate and surprising to everyone. In only six weeks, unemployment disappeared, all the factories had reopened and everyone had food. For the inhabitants of Worgl, the economic depression was gone. This dramatic transformation became known as the miracle of Worgl. Surrounding towns, inspired by the success of Worgl, immediately started printing their own local currencies.

Sadly, the miracle did not last long. When the Austrian Central Bank heard about Worgls local currency, they initiated legal proceedings against the mayor and local businessmen. According to Austrian banking law, it was illegal for anyone except the Austrian Central Bank to issue money. The bank won the court case, and the mayor was ordered to shut down the local currency, which he did, under threat of imprisonment. The town then returned to the devastating economic depression of the 1930s, with all the human pain and suffering associated with this catastrophe. Factories closed, and once again, the people starved.

Alternative Currency in the U.S.

Irving Fisher, an American professor of economics at Yale University, visited Worgl before the local currency was suppressed and witnessed the miracle firsthand. When he returned to the United States, Fisher spread the word by traveling and lecturing across the country, advocating the use of the Worgl scrip everywhere. Inspired by his vision, hundreds of communities began issuing their own currency, and by 1934 there were over 1,000 local communities using scrip throughout the U.S.

Every one of these communities experienced a tremendous rejuvenation of their local economies. They thrived while others suffered. Fisher then met with President Franklin D. Roosevelt, proposing the implementation of government-sanctioned local scrip in every community in America. When FDR consulted with his top financial advisors and bankers, however, he was advised to shut all the scrip systems down, which he did. Instead, he borrowed large amounts of money from bankers, at interest, and used it to pay for the Reconstruction Finance Corporation and the other work-creation projects, which collectively came to be known as the New Deal. So ended the last widespread use of a local currency within the U.S.

I'm not too much of an economist but that doesn't seem to be a very good long term solution. If the money is only good in that town, and no one else recongizes it, then the money has no value. If you tried to expand outside the town, then it would be pointless because you don't have any money to do it.

Excellent point Kranes56! Yes..... over the first decade or two each of these local currencies will face the problem of not being accepted in a large area...... this is perhaps the major weakness with www.CalgaryDollars.ca/ and the Ithaca Hour... .. but .....once many communities as well as groups are taking advantage of our economic freedom to create such currencies...... then it comes down to largely a database problem to get two or more communities to cooperate with each other!

True...… that is one very probable outcome.............. I feel the key is to get the people of those two or more towns or cities to cooperate on some altruistic projects that they both agree on......and have the people and resources to approach from a somewhat different angle that the people of each town or city can respect......… even if their contribution has a different flavour.

I personally have advocated for the creation of a Vatican Currency Unit which.... in theory ..... could play a significant role even in the financing of the Jerusalem Third Temple complex as predicted by Ezekiel in chapters 40 - 48????!!!!

I am mesmerized by the truth in bible prophecy that the Spirit of God has been revealing over the recent years. Secret things belong to God and those that are revealed belong to us and our children... (Deut 29: 29).

1. King Cyrus the great ruled his country 555 years Before Christ i.e. from 576 BC to 530 BC and authorised the rebuilding of the second temple in Jerusalem. Cyrus of the Old Testament is hence associated with the number 555 and is the shadow figure of incoming Cyrus II of the New Testament. You may learn more about his history from the internet and scriptures. This new truth enables us to identify the leadership of the world that will rebuild the temple in Jerusalem as prophesied in book of Isaiah before the rise of antichrist. Cyrus II is coming to revive the evangelical/Pentecostal church in Jerusalem and restore the headquarters of the church in same city where the church was born. He is set to strip Babylon of the vessels of the temple and the name of the Lord God and transfer that crown back to Jerusalem thus leaving Babylon naked. Cyrus will rebuild the temple in Jerusalem in fulfilment of the prophecy of Jesus as written in the book of John 2:18-23 and the prophecy of Isaiah as written in chapters 40, 41, 45 and 47 of the book of Isaiah. Jesus regarded the temple as the symbol of his own body while saying that he had the power to lay it down on the first day (1st millennium) and rebuild or raise it up on the 3rd day (3rd millennium). Remember that one day in the eyes of God is the same as one thousand years (millennium) as stated in book of 2 Peter 3:8. Rebuilding of the temple is thus associated with unification of the church.

Cyrus II will rebuild the temple in honour of our lord Jesus Christ. The temple will be the unifying (rallying) point of the world wide evangelical church as the original headquarters of the church. Psalms133 denotes that there is such a powerful anointing that comes along with unity among brethren. Unification of the whole body of Jesus Christ will make the church so powerful that she will overrun the world within a short time before the return of our lord Jesus Christ. A divided church is a powerless church whereas a united church is a powerful church. The church can only be able to fulfil her ultimate mission of revealing Jesus to the world once we get united as one body of Jesus Christ following his last prayer for his disciples as written in John 17:20-23.

Cyrus II will erase that false image of Jesus that the counterfeit and Idolatrous state church of Babylon has been projecting around the world and revive the original church that projects the true brilliant image of Jesus Christ. Haggai 2:9 says that the glory of the latter church (temple) will be greater than the glory of the former church (temple).The rise of Cyrus will also usher in the ultimate fulfilment of the prophecy of Joel 2:28 where God intends to pour out His Spirit on all flesh in these last days. The era of Cyrus brings the gentile period of grace to its close and leads to the restoration of the Jewish period of grace and salvation.

2. King Manasseh was the shadow figure (forerunner) of the antichrist in the Old Testament who ruled over Jerusalem exactly 666 years Before Christ i.e. from 697 BC to 642 BC. (2 chronicle 33: 1-2 and 2 kings 21: 1-17). Antichrist is associated with the number 666 as written in the book of Revelation 13:18. Manasseh was the most evil king to have ever ruled over the city of Jerusalem and kingdom of Judah.

Manasseh is reported to have killed so many innocent people in Jerusalem that the streets of Jerusalem were flowing with blood; he worshiped pagan idols and stars; he built pagan alters for idols and stars in the very courtyards of the temple; he sacrificed his sons to idols; he consulted diviners and mediums; he even set up an abominable pagan image at the temple that causes desolation just as the incoming antichrist will do. It was on that basis that God decided to have that first temple destroyed completely since Manasseh had desecrated it.

3. Prophet Jonah was the shadow figure (forerunner) of Jesus Christ in the Old Testament who undertook his prophetic ministry around 777 B.C. Prophet Jonah is hence associated with the number 777. He arose from the shadow and demise of Prophet Elisha. His preaching radiated such great power and authority that turned the city of Nineveh as the rising super power of that time up side down within 3 days only (read the book of Jonah). Jonah was the prophetic force behind the restoration of the lost territories of Israel in the reign of King Jeroboam II of Israel between 782 BC and 741 BC as written in II Kings 14:25. Jonah related with God more or less as his own father and God loved him more or less as His own son. He volunteered to die save occupants of the ship and was raised to life after three days just like Jesus Christ. Jesus compared himself with Jonah as his forerunner in the Old Testament as far as his earthly ministry, death and resurrection was concerned in Mathew 12; 38-41, Luke 11; 29-32. Jesus will also oversee the restoration of the lost territories of Israel just like prophet Jonah when he comes to rule as the king of kings and Lord of Lords. We can therefore correctly associate Jesus Christ with the number 777 just like Jonah as our commander-in-chief, Lord of the Sabbath and fountain of life.

I am fairly certain that this verse in the Jewish Bible is certainly not advocating that in the era of Moshiach that every body has to go to Jerusalem to observe the Festival of Tabernacles, merely that nations allow their Jews and Noahides to freely travel to and back from Jerusalem in order to observe Tabernacles.

Assessing the horror of a single Nuclear Blast on a city in India or Pakistan..
We have the option to imagine the city of our choice
Karachi, Delhi, Islamabad, Mumbai OR Hyderabad....
Imagine a hundred lightenings blazing in the sky together and simultaneously hitting a few sq km area of a crowded city like Karachi, Delhi, Islamabad, Mumbai or Hyderabad. A fireball, as hot as and many times brighter than the brightest sun, extending to several miles in seconds, will suck up the vapor to rise in a huge column of fire in shape of mushroom at the top for many miles up in the sky. The entire area will be sucked up in vapors instantly as maximum heat emission occurring within 4 seconds of detonation releasing half of heat within ten seconds. Fireball will be rising, scorching and vaporizing entire area extending to several miles. A bluish-white light flashing in the sky, like man made sun will emit ultra-violet, visible, and infra-red radiation (writes Stonier in nuclear disaster).
A small 20 megaton explosion would cause the clothing’s of a person standing 30 km away to burst into flames and will spread to 70 km within 10 seconds. A huge pressure-wave many times faster than sound, will spread from the centre of explosion. Immediately behind this shock will come wind gushing at speed of thousand miles per hour. As it will move outward it will create a vacuum, surrounding air now will rush in fanning many fires through heat radiation and the blast. These fires will cover a radius of 70 km immediately and would form mass fires and with combustible material being abundantly available in cities, would become fierce firestorms and conflagrations. These waves bouncing back and forth between earth and the atmosphere will shatter window panes up to 200 km away. In an area of 35 km radius serious firestorms will run wildly causing total causalities and destruct everything to ashes.
Now this all has happened in just first 3 minutes. Let us see now what will happen next 30 minutes.

Within half an hour a total disorder will spread beyond the outer fringes of the city limits in Karachi, Delhi, Islamabad, Mumbai or Hyderabad and city having been destroyed and everything charred beyond recognition. All activity paralyzed, millions dead with no survivors in 35 km radius. What will happen to those burnt and seriously injured, running in panic or crawling with agony, writhing and crying in unbearable pain, utter chaos spread all round with all hospitals destroyed and large number of nurses and doctors dead or seriously injured. Trees in even far areas will burn completely and their branches, burning with flames will become shooting arrows darting here and there from the pressure wave. Glass panes broken and flying with speed in a city with millions already dead and those breathing shall face the nasty hits of flying objects with great speed. City temperature several hundred centigrade will make water boiling in tanks, ponds, rivers or swimming pools. Those who would try to beat the unbearable heat by jumping in any water body around shall be boiled like the scrambled egg. No words can describe the terror and the agony of the inferno that shall be witnessed after one such attack on the crowded city with the massive warheads that have already been planted. In seconds the city will be on fire and street become impassable with flames. Heat will increase rapidly and become typhoon that will move in the direction of the fire and soon several hundred typhoons will spread in the city in all directions.

Inside houses, hardly anyone will get time to realize the seriousness of the situation and unable to breath they will lie on ground or limp and crawl to see face-down dead bodies in thousand everywhere in streets, parks, parking areas, like garbage dumps. Transportation and communication services will be first to get disorganized. Administrative machinery is already in disorder and chaos. Survivors would be, if any, without their outer skins or badly burnt and peeled off like banana, wait for the death that will not come easily. Suffering from exposure, injuries, malnutrition and radiation poisoning will become seeds of epidemics. Water supplies polluted and with no disinfectants, insecticides, vaccines and absence of physicians, scarcity of food and other essentials will create lawlessness to its limits causing heavy toll amongst survivors. Within one hours of a single 20 megaton attack on Karachi, Delhi, Islamabad, Mumbai OR Hyderabad millions would be dead and more than 5 million will be crippled with serious third degree burns and injuries in the metropolitan area. Who will treat this huge rush and where will be doctors and facilities to treat them. For days they will lie in pain, rich and poor together on road on besides walls of hospitals not able to move a finger to fly the maggots and flies and vermin appearing over their bodies. Black swarms of flies will appear like black mounds over the bodies of the injured. With filth all around them they will wait their agonizing end. This is beyond our power to imagine what havoc this one attack will cause.

My dear friend, do you not think that Vajpayee and Musharraf, still would be able to save most of their nuclear stuff for future wars.... Communities in India and Pakistan must put pressure on their respective governments to pave the way to peace. It would be easier to form a network of Parliamentarians, Supreme Court Lawyers and respected religious heads who are pro peace and development. They, together with the public support, peace activists and NGOs could involve the highest court to intervene in the demonic plans of the leaders, who are sucking on public money by amassing mass killing devices and subjecting tens of millions of their people to a miserable fate year after year !

In 1972, the United States Treasury Department was asked to compute the amount of interest that would have been paid if that 400 million dollars would have been borrowed at interest instead of being issued by Abraham Lincoln. They did some computations, and a few weeks later, the United States Treasury Department said the United States Government saved 4 billion dollars in interest because Lincoln had created his own money. It will work fine as long as there are:1) trust in the issuer and 2) faith that it will be converted to cash or something of value like credit/goods/services in some form.

I began a discussion with this quotation that I am hoping to expand into one theory on how groups of people printing up local currencies and linking them to film projects could transform the economy of North America........ and later on the whole world!!!!????

In the endbelieve it or not (sigh of relief) everyone gets to come home! I know some people will have a hard time hearing this. Especially those who believe that people who do evil deserve damnation. But you must understand; Heaven does not think as we do. Heaven is a place of ultimate LOVE! They want nothing more than to see us healed and restored should we have been damaged by evil. And to Heaven, those who are hurt by evil or even seen as Souls' who actually do it ... are all seen as individuals who are hurting in the worst wayand in need to repair. Also, do you honestly think Jesus would have asked us to forgive, serve and Love one another without hesitationif Heaven does not do that as well? Think about it.

Understand, God has a perfect system of justice. What comes around, always goes around. No one ever gets away with anything. I can promise you that! What we do not rectify and make right in this life, we will have to accomplish in the next one. The great Christian teacher from India, Paramahansa Yogananda, believes that Heaven does not usually allow us to remember former incarnations because of the challenging Karma we may have endured before. He says, there is no greater "hell" than the hell we create for ourselves though the perpetration of unloving behavior. The energy of such deeds always comes to find us in later lives.

When we have learned how to become individuals that base our entire existence and consciousness around manifesting LOVE, we then become capable of entering the domain of the higher Realms of Heaven while also understanding how Heaven thinks. In the Bible, it is written, "Our thoughts are not like God's thoughtsand our ways are not like God's ways." And without the energy of Love permeating our being fully, we will never even come close to thinking like God.

The bottom line is this: until we practice Love consistently, we will only go so far until we are made to incarnate somewhere in God's Super Universe again and again (unlimited times) until we finally learn our lesson. Until then, we will be allowed to come back home to various parts of the Realm temporarily, so that we can be refreshed, refurnished and taught by our elders, Soul Family and our guides. If an attempt is made to link the currency to volunteerism... and if perhaps a measuring unit of one hour is used as is done in the town of Ithaca, New York.... then near death experiencer Christian Andreason may be the perfect person to focus this initiative around.

Near my Los Angeles apartment in West Hollywood, there is a rather large assortment of homeless people. I have worked with a few of them. Most of these Souls suffer from what others' would call mental problems. While this may be true, in my eyes these peoples' 'mental disorders' and inability to integrate into every day society is a symptom of something much deeper. I have clairvoyantly seen that quite of few of these people are holding onto lost spiritual entities who have latched on the them because their own inner village is in such a state of confusion and chaos. This occurrence has created an avalanche of voices around and within themand the result has led them to exist in a state of madness. As I have become acquainted with a few of these people and learned their stories, I find myself constantly amazed at how little 'allowances' of destructive behavior (over time) got them to where they are now. Before they might have been considered perfectly normal, holding down good jobs and living above average lives when suddenly, BAM!the darkness around them that matched the darkness they had created within (from this life or former ones) attacked and evoked something I refer to as, "a spiritual stroke!" The only way out is Love and to be surrounded by Christ centered Love. This is the only energy that can cut through a person trapped in this state. While medication can (sometimes) help, in truth it will only temporarily by-pass the chemical strongholds that have been rooted in that person's brain. With out the energy of Love swirling around them, once the medicine has run its course, the person is left no better than before.(Christian Andreason, chapter 9)

hopelessly utopian - first off, having a bunch of homeless as your staff, just wouldn't work out - many of them have issues etc.

secondly, how can you tell if someone is homeless or not anyway?
