Is the tide turning? Will our anti-petro administration permit it? And, will it increase pressure on the EPA to allow more distilleries and export facilities? 4 nations urge US gas exports amid Ukraine crisis March 8, 2014 - BY JOSH LEDERMAN, Associated Press See more at: http://cnsnews.com/news/article/4-n...orts-amid-ukraine-crisis#sthash.0VwkGCWx.dpuf And, the next question is – when will the US start using more and efficient way to use the energy source it appears we have in mind-bending amounts?
Will Obama Allow Export of LPG to Europe? An interesting question with a variety of answers and reasoning @ http://directorblue.blogspot.com/2014/03/exporting-gas-to-europe-would-be-huge.html My question is; if we are showing such an abundance, why would we NOT be allowed to export? It means $$$ for the companies, the workers, and those who service them.
The USA annualy export 0.1 Billion cubic meters of liquefied natural gas, Russia exports 110 Billion cubic meters. The same amount of natural gas is exported by Norway. The US gas is shipped to Europe, Russian and Norwegian gas is pumped through pipelines. Russia can respond to increases of demand by supplying 505 Million cubic meters per day through the pipeline system. How can the USA compensate any shortage of Russian gas supplies in Europe? By increasing their tanker fleet by 1100 times? Isn't it better to ask the Norwegians? The next ones waiting for opening the gas valves for European markets are the North Africans. North Africa is even closer to Central Europe than Russia, not to speak about the USA. Who had that ingenious idea? http://www.technologyreview.com/news/525601/the-us-cant-really-undermine-russia-by-exporting-gas/ http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-...orts-jump-to-3-week-high-as-buyers-hoard.html
I'm sorry, but this thread is ultimate bogus to say the least. The problem is not the USA allowing to let her own businesses to export goods -- that notion alone doesn't make sense. Everyone wants to see "their" corporations being succesful. The problem is (1) the necessary infrastructure and (2) a general cost-profit calculation. Anyways, I'm a huge fan of possible American liquefied natural gas! Our European industry is in a really bad position when it comes down to energy costs. The USA has walked the way of "fracking" which in turn made the price of gas tumble down to a scale that vast branches of industry have become far better placed in a free market than European companies. I'm not sure what to do about it. Start fracking ourselves, not really an option because our continent is so densly populated. How much would the American gas cost? All open questions...
Fracking is a legitimate answer (for the UK anyway). http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencet...ssive-gas-deposits-self-sufficient-years.html
There's enough shale gas under Northern England alone to power the UK for 50 years. We should get fracking that. The government is in favour of it and, polls show, so are most people. It should start right away.
