According to Psalms 45:2, the Messiah is "fairer than the children of men".

Lamentations 4:7 says "Her Nazarites were purer than snow, they were whiter than milk."

He was a Jew. Are jews white? If you think they are then explain how a bunch of whites came about in the Middle-east?

apparently in ancient Palestine, some Jews were white.

hence the Bible passages I have posted.

go to Israel, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan.

you can see many Arabs who are in fact, white. I met a Palestinian Jordanian girl last weekend, who by most estimates is in fact white.

Being fairer does not equate to being white, just lighter colored.

The US census defines anyone from europe, the middle east, and north africa as white. In my opinion Jesus looked like the typical israeli jew of today, olive skinned, dark hair, dark eyes (most likely), although he could have been fair skinned, white. Although the term 'white' wasn't really around back then.

Hum. I don't think they really thought about race in those days. They did speak of national or regional origin, like Spaniard, African, even cultural subsets like moors.

I don't think either of those verses are in reference to skin color. The first verse appears to be describing the Messiah in terms of his worth. Fairer than the children of men has been interpreted as meaning he was an excellent human being. The second verse appears to be metaphorical. I think the Israelites of that time period looked like other tan-skinned populations in the Middle East, not like light-skinned Europeans.

the messiah turned white when europeans started painting him as white in 1500 ad. Originally he was what we today call 'black'. Im using the pictures in the first bible as reference that were created in ethiopia.

I've seen ancient Egyptian depictions of Semitic people's related to the Biblical Israelites, and while they are noticeably less dark than the Egyptians themselves, they still look darker than Northern Europeans.

Ronstar, where are those images you posted from?

Here are some of the Egyptian depictions of Semitic people I am talking about:
(Most of these are Middle Eastern with the obvious exception of the very dark Nubian at middle-left)

To me all these look like olive-skinned Southwest Asian people as Egalitarianjay02 described. Now none of them are explicitly identified as Hebraic like Jesus, but they come from the same major region and are ethnically related, so I wager this is similar to how most Biblical Israelites looked.
