    MOD WARNING

    http://www.nola.com/politics/index.ssf/2014/04/post_558.html#incart_m-rpt-1

Surprise surprise. They voted to keep a patently unconstitional, unenforcable, bigoted law on the books.

    Why?

What's that I'm always hearing about not caring what gays do in their own bedrooms?

Here's a fine example of bigotry in action. Clinging to the unconstitutional attempt to single out gays as second class citizens, even to the point of criminalizing them for consensual acts between conscenting adults.

Why try to keep he law on the books? It can't be used to being charges.

    It can't be enforced.

How long will these people cling to any thread of bigotry they can?

Gonna be more court cases if they make the mistake of trying to enforce this law.

There's no more shadows for hate to hide in.

Ouf course they did. This is the same state where a third of the population voted for the former and unapologetic head of the KKK (and current king of Stormfront) for governor...

"The republican party isn't racist!" -half the party votes for candidate openly in support of segregation-

Of course now all of them are going to come in here and bring up Robert Byrd... a dead man who left the klan in the early 50's and apologized for being in it too many times to count.

republicans support the individual mandate too, but glad there are a few of us left on both sides that are against the individual mandate

though I prefer single payer or at least a public option... what do you support... repeal and erase.... IE no healthcare for the people unless they can afford it?

Most deadbeat Obama voters can go to the free clinics and public charity hospitals for free medical treatment.

It is not my responsibility to provide your healthcare just because you or some other person failed to provide for yourself.

    Five...unelected lawyers.

You don't even have the faintest idea what the judicial system is.

You get the same warning as the other two.

This is not a healthcare topic, kindly stay on topic.

There are enough healthcare threads to go around. This is not one of them.

It's not healthy for you, and since you dont buy it at the store,( like Cigarettes), they can't just tax you to hell....so may as well keep it illegal. It's for your own good, and the rest of us shouldn't have to pay for torn colons and all the other diseases that come with pretending the Anus is a sex organ.

    It's for your health.

You want Government telling you which soda size you can purchase, vote democrat. These catchy slogans are nice, but they can equally be applied to both parties. As far as the law, they should really only regulate unwanted sodomy.

The reason they keep an unenforceable law on the books is because it pleases the mob. The electorate doesn't care much for the gays. As it is unenforceable, why do you care that it is there? It offends you that the people who elect people want the symbolism. Not your state, then you have no say... is your state, then you are outvoted. Be offended. You get to. You can move, or not, depending on your locality. Take your tax dollars to a more tollerant state. California needs them to be sure.

"Wah... your state doesn't act like my state"

It isn't supposed to. That was by design.

Unfortunately I'm very aware of what a joke the judicial system has become.

In the case of homosexuality libs could not get popular support for legalization of perverted gay sex practices so they went crying to lib fellow travelers on the high courts who are not elected to office and do not answer to the people.

I think its called oligarchy where an elite few form a dictatorship over the many.

And that's how the disgusting things homosexuals do has now become legal.

It really is society's business to set limits and draw the line somewhere.

That's why we have age of consent laws and limits on how many wives one man can have.

The idiocy from the right never ends. A law that can't be enforced, unless they want to personally inspect everyone's sphincter.

Indeed. I thought that's what all this state sovereignty and how this nation was set up was about.

To allow for the unique diversity within the union, that actually allows and respects peoples their own differences.

Racial segregation and religious fueled bedroom policy are both standard hardcore conservative fare. Ask a KKK member what they think of Broke Back Mountain and you will see this.
