That's great to see that some governments start to take care of the national minorites, they are very important for our heritage and they unfortunaly tend to be less and less widespread; there a lot of cultures who disappear, we just have to look at the langages spoken in little regions, they are often only used by oldest persons, that's sad :(!

The Devonians and Lancastrians are a national minority, so why do the denizens of one English county get officially recognised as such but not the denizens of the other counties?

What about Mancunians, Scousers, Brummies, Cockneys and Geordies? Each of them is a national minority, yet why does the EUSSR fail to recognise them as such?

Still, this EU status lasts only for as long as Britain remains in the EU. When we leave the EU in the not-too-distant future Cornwall will no longer have that status.

Its just fact to note that the Cornish and the Welsh are the most genetically distinct in the UK. Essentially they're closer to Britons

    Who says so?

By the way, the English as a whole are eligible to apply for EU minority status. The Czechs, Danes, Germans and Finns are officially recognised EU minorities, and there are more Germans than there are English.

No thanks. The vast majority of people living in Cornwall are not "ethnic Cornish" and are no different from the people living elsewhere in England.

The evidence shows that the Cornish are distinct from the rest of England. You can play pretend if you want. Each to their own

ok, seems plausible, so would you be in favor of a Cornish militia to defend their 'rights'?

Haven't a clue what you're going on about now. Sounds like you're taking right wing American comment and assuming its relevant. Big assumption
