Anybody doubt the outcome of the vote?... SYRIA'S ASSAD TO SEEK RE-ELECTION IN JUNE VOTE Apr 28,`14 -- Syrian President Bashar Assad declared his candidacy Monday for a new seven-year term in June presidential elections, more than three years into a revolt against his rule that has killed more than 150,000 people, uprooted another 9 million and touched off a humanitarian crisis.
I'd vote for him if I lived in Syria. I'd rather have an iron fist in a velvet glove and water than total chaos.
So do most Americans, but they suffer from the delusion that they somehow control the iron fist which makes it more palatable to them.
At this point in time, there really isn't a comparison between the baathists and american domestic or foregin policy, at least not yet. There is no comparison. Are you aware of the Assad regime's atrocities of the past few decades? It would be like comparing the taliban's brutality with playing candyland.
Was there any doubt of the outcome??...
