I heard Europeans have a great sense of community and they are happy to take care of each other. So i don't mean Danes take care of Italians but i mean Danes take care of other Danes and Belgians take care of Belgians. So am i right? Isn't this a socialism?
That's a bit of a generalisation as there is no real common attitude amongst European nations. Well most places have become rather cosmopolitan nowadays so the welfare system in whichever country would apply anyway as long as they meet the requirements. Socialism comes in many different flavours and it's quite a general concept. In Britain we have the Labour party which promotes socialist values such as welfare, the NHS and so on. So if you think that socialism is about the state providing the means for people to look after people then I'd say that's what we have to a certain point and that we are socialist within reason. The other version of socialism which people associate with revolves around collective ownership such as the regimes of Mao and Stalin.
Communism is a mass murdering system that had killed tens of Millions of Europeans. Socialism is an economic system run by illiterates that bankrupts economies.
I don´t think a National Health Service is socialism... in that case Otto von Bismarck and Franz Josef von Habsburg are socialist!!!!!!
Correct. I fully back a free at the point of delivery comprehensive heath care system. Socialism is essentially about nationalising the means of production which I am utterly opposed to.
Socialism works only in rich countries with low populations. As far as communism goes, all it does is create a brand new aristocratic class far worse than anything previous. It gives birth to a 'communist monarchy' like we saw in all countries that applied it.
What does being recognsed have to do with it being overly nationalist? you claimed that Communists do not support Nationalists and clearly they do.
No. They are not Socialist. You are free to own your own means of production. There are huge privately owned companies in those countries like Saab, Ikea, Lego, Volvo, Ericcson, Handelsbank, Sandvok and H&M. These countries certainly exhibit large amounts of social spending but socialist they are not.
This is socialism not communism. In socialism you are very much allowed to have your own means of production.
We support the right of people to be free of persecution and discrimination . You think that Israel would even recognize an overly nationalist Arab organization ?
no it is called compassion socialism is when your forced against your will to show compassion that you may have a good reason not to be compassionate about
No. That is not true. iT IS : a political and economic theory of social organization which advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole. - - - Updated - - - Obviously they do. You don;t seem to be keen on the right of people to be Free in North Kore do you?
Socialism is actually an umbrella term. People in Hitler's Germany were actually allowed to own businesses and corporations under the clearly stated terms of the National Socialist German Workers' Party. Remember the privately owned Krupp? Remember giant Porsche - private investor and contract manufacturer of Nazi Germany and so on? There were also lots of smaller entrepreneurs like Oskar Schindler, the man that inspired the book and movie called Schindler's list. The Nazis didn't confiscate anything privately owned, large or small, unless it was owned by Jews or enemies of the state. France experimented with socialism in the the 1970s too. Scotland is about to do the same now, perhaps on its own from next September. Scandinavians are de facto socialists. Even if they don't declare themselves that way, it doesn't mean they aren't. Prisons in Norway are like 4 star hotels.
Interesting youy think National socialism is actually Socialism. Scotland is certainly NOT going to become Socialist no matter how much the idea excites you France in the seventies was never actually socialist. They embraced corporativism. Scandanavia has certainly been Social Democrat which is Not by any means Socialism as Scandanavia's socialist parties will certainly tell you. Having comfortable prisons is hardly indicative of Socialism.
