what is the attitude of Norwegians/Swedes/Danes towards poverty?

    Is poverty a sconsidered a shame in these countries? Do Danes/Norwegians/Swedes have "poor people are lazy idiots", "poverty is immutable", "we must not help poor people" mentality?

    not sure to be honest, but I don't think the 'poor people are lazy' mantra is widely used there.

    They pickle the poor and sell them to people as herring so it isn't a problem for them.

    The poverty refugee issue is interesting. The challenge is less feeding the poor and more how do you keep the children of the poor from being poor when they are adults. The foreign refugees account for a large number of children in these nations. Except perhaps for Headstart, the US has never had a clear and coherent policy to break poverty at the generational level, and statistics seem to suggest that a lot of what we do may be reinforcing poverty.

    low populations in places like Sweden make life a lot easier to manage, I reckon
