    Like Britain's National Health Service

Mistakes by NHS staff are killing 12,500 every year: And they operate on wrong body part once a week, reveals Hunt

Health secretary said some serious errors happen six times a week

He said: 'Twice a week we leave a foreign object... inside someone's body'

Up to one in 20 deaths in hospitals can be avoided, according to research

    This again.

The US healthcare system is worse because the preventable deaths are actually higher with estimates of 210,000 to 440,000 per year which is up from the 1999 estimate of 98,000.
Also the average life expectancy is actually lower despite the considerably greater expenditure when compared to other wealthy nations.

Not to mention the fact that people with pre existing conditions aren't realistically insurable and of course there are people who have had to sell everything in order to be treated in the US.

For us the state of the NHS is a big deal which is why it comes into the news so often.

From a personal note my fathers ex is from California and she couldn't get treated for her condition because no one would insure her whereas here she's able to receive treatment and drugs all for free.

We can't compete with the US for amenable mortality. Also note that input-output efficiency analysis finds national health care is more efficient.

But how long will we have NHS? Tories are chipping away at it. Bigoted parties like UKIP would give them more ammo. All to reduce taxes for Littlle Englanders

The nations with the best health care are all gov't regulated and most often single payer

Just to let those of you who visit City-Data Forum, I've been booted until June 6 for posting this.
In other words, don't go there if you are frustrated by unwarranted moderator censorship!!! :steamed:

Anybody using the Mail has already lost the debate. Its noise that only gets in the way of credible comment.

The point of this is when the choice is taken away from the people by whatever means, it always results in the governing agency more worried about its rules and regulations than about actually providing medical care to the needy - of ANY social/financial status!

You shoulda seen the PM I sent the senior administrator. Wouldn't be surprised to see myself banned for life.

But the evidence shows otherwise, with greater efficiency and lower amenable mortality. We've only seen one thing: you're a victim of using ideologically driven source

I say that is incorrect, I've used the NHS a few times and it was fine. Some of my family are NHS doctors and they all speak in favour of it - will defend it to the hilt.

LOL , join the club! Munter is persona non-grata over there
