So now pretty much everybody knows that Iran's gonna chime in and help (the situation in Iraq).

What if they get access to those mil-technology of the US arsenal? US gave Iraqis like tons of toys, remember?

Oh you could argue those techs were 30 or even 50 years old, but remember, a lot of countries in this world like Iran still can't reverse engineer those techs.

Clearly Obama has one more hot potato to juggle.

Then I would guess they would be able to be a threat to anyone in their immediate vicinity.

That the Iranians can get their hands on this stuff is bad. Just another piece of Hussein Obama incompetence.

On the other hand, the technical boobs in Iran cannot keep M-1 and F-16 engines operating.

Most of those are pretty useless without extensive training--for the users and the maintainers.

    This isn't a current event.

Iranians are pretty well educated on the whole.. What they can't get is parts.. because of sanctions.

    Taxcutter says:
If they can't get parts (and M-1 engines and F-16 engines go through parts like teenagers go through potato chips) the tanks and planes are just inert sculptures.

The Iranians don't need high maintenance Abrams, F-16s and other fancy American equipment -- they have AK-47s and Toyota pickup trucks!

Oh....80-th tech......soooooooooooooo interesting for them. NOT.

If they really want stuff like that they can ask China for it.

Don't be so shy, sweatheart. The mess you did in Iraq.

I think the value of those items wouldn't be for the Iranian military specifically, but selling them to interested parties, like China or Russia.

There isn't really any value in selling F-16s or Abrams tanks to the Russians or Chinese. The technology in those machines isn't exactly groundbreaking both of the nations already know how to make similar equipment. In fact both nations already have weaponry better than the aforementioned. Its not like Iran is on the verge of stealing a B-2 stealth bomber or anything.

And I guess that Serbians, after hitting a stealth bomber [which crashed in enemy territory], have transmitted something to Russians, who, in the meanwhile, have developed their own stealth tech.

A part that Iranian will find a few [really a few] F16 in Iraq, regarding M1 Abrams, I wonder if Teheran could think to get them.

:oldman:They have already got their glorious [and blessed] Zulfiqar, the invincible Main Battle Tank of the protectors of the Revolution.:worship:

A few decades from now the Iranians would be able to build weapons that can be defeated by stuff we developed a couple decades ago. Do you really believe our military command would give ANYONE advanced weaponry?

Hell...we don't even give the dog a bone....we give it snausages.
