We've turned our Border Patrol agents into babysitters? And, as cruel as it sounds, these are probably far better conditions for them than they have back home. Load them up on buses and let them out at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Maybe Pelosi will share her Depends.
Obama stickin' his head inna sand over immigration... Obama sets no timeline for action on immigration August 28, 2014: WASHINGTON (AP) White House preps legal case for immigration shift See also: Illegal Aliens Storm the Beach in San Diego, Second Attempt Thwarted August 28, 2014 - Illegal aliens successfully landed on a San Diego beach in a panga boat on Monday and ran to shore - but, when another group tried the same thing on Tuesday, U.S. Customs and Border (CBP) agents were waiting for them.
Send these folks back. We cannot afford them. We are a land of laws. Our immigration system is not broke, but our border is. Secure the damn border!
What of human rights? Is it not unethical to send a man and his family back into the poverty he wishes to escape?
I don't understand your reasoning. Are you saying no rich nation has a right to maintain it's borders? What is the human rights aspect?
Gee whiz. It wasn't all this long ago that the invasion across our southern borders was THE headline on every news show?
I can only think of using a situation that some people live in to explain the reasoning behind my comment. Colombia is by far one of the worst nations to live in as a homeless man or woman, transgender, prostitute, homeless child, or what would deem an individual a "criminal". Many of these people live in the old sewage system, and every day they fear that they will lose their life. Small groups of officers and citizens practice something they cheerfully call "social cleansing." I assume you know what they mean by this... Let us pretend a Colombian managed to get into the U.S. "illegally," and attempts to build a life here as an undocumented individual. Would an individual that seeks to protect the land he owns be at moral and ethical fault if he deports a trespasser away which that deportation off his land lead to the trespasser's eventual death? I'd say yes, the owner would be at fault because his actions forced the trespasser's life to be forced back into what he was attempting to escape. What say you?
The example you are using isn't a specific case of persecution that would qualify for refugee status (which by the way, one would have to apply for in a US embassy). The truth is that almost the entire world lives in crappy conditions. That doesn't grant them a "human right" to come here and be taken care of. There was a Pew poll that said about 500-700 million people would leave their third world crapholes to come to the West if they could. We're not going to be allowing that. I do think there should be a legal way for caring individuals such as yourself to sponsor third world wretches like your Colombian homeless transgender prostitute, and be responsible for them though. You should be able to take in as many as you can afford.
Boehner and the Republican house don't care about your immigration concerns. After their long summer vacation, they passed a continuing resolution funding Planned Parenthood, fully funding Obamacare, and want to de-regulate Wall Street. You Republican rank and file are fighting and your representatives are slipping you the high hard one. http://www.federaltimes.com/article...solution-fund-government-through-mid-December
