Physicist Offers $10,000 to Anyone Who Can Disprove Global Warming

All right all you AGW deniers, step right up and win 10K! You think Global Warming isn't man made, here's your chance win to 10K.

Christopher Keating wont lose any money, because the science supports AGW.

Loki's wager, what does he want disproven?

The problem with AGW is it is so loosely defined that the definition changes based on argument. Are we talking about predicted 4C rise in temperature by the end of the century, or that CO2 has IR properties but is largely saturated, or that CO2 has strong second order forcings, of that the climate system has strongly positive feedback, or does the climate system have neutral feedback, or strongly negative, or are we supposed to argue that CO2 haas no IR properties at all?

The definition of what defines modern AGW theory and therefore the evidence needed to refute it changes from argument to argument. Its a classic case of Loki's Wager. The warmmongers are constantly changing the definition of what AGW theory is in total that it can never be clearly defined or clearly refuted.

This (*)(*)(*)(*)head with his bet knows full well that no matter what comes in he can simply change the definitions. AGW propaganda rests on this simple play of logic.

I feel like no matter evidence is provided, he will just say 'nu uh' and throw out some obscure fact and refuse to believe it.

Disproving global warming is easy. The temps haven't changed in 17 years. Are you sure he doesn't mean Climate Change? That guy is a bozo.

Loki's wager. He will simply change the definition and say that global warming is keeping the temperatures flat in the face of what would be a natural cooling.

In the end CO2 does have some observed IR properties about 1C per doubling. Hacks can always fall back on that as other arguments fail. Of course 1C per doubling of CO2 isn't very much of a problem.

Yeah, I do like the idea, but he needs to specify exactly what he means, and what constitutes proof of such. Seems like more of a publicity stunt then anything.

Nope AGW will simply be hiding in the deep ocean where you cant see it.

In the skeptic sphere we call this game 'wheres Waldo.'

The earth has been warming since the last ice age. What is it he wishes someone disprove? The fact that the IPCC claimed it wasn't warming, what?

It didn't state AGW, just GW. The IPCC AR5 report is one piece of evidence. hah, what a k00k!

This is like asking someone to prove that God doesn't exist. You can't prove a negative. Obviously this guy (and you, by extension) have never heard of something called the burden of proof.

Sure you can. As soon as you give attributes to a 'god', you can disprove these attributes, thus disproving that 'god'. Same with anything that has attributes attached to them, like AGW.

I can attribute the color blue to a statue. If someone proves that the statue is actually red, that must prove that the statue doesn't exist.

    Makes perfect sense.

In order to prove the statue is red, once must see it, so it must exist....Great example

It is, it shows how your reasoning fails. Whether something exists or not is not dependent on whether someone attributes some arbitrary characteristic to it.

Hardly. In this case of 'god', if you give Yahweh the attribute of perfection, then if you prove Genesis wrong you prove that Yahweh does not exist. This does not mean that another 'god' does not exist, it just means that Yahweh does not exist.

In the poor example you gave, it means the statue you say exists doesn't, that doesn't mean other statues exists or not.

We have given attributes to AGW, now step up to the plate and get your 10K.
