US evacuates Embassy in Libya amid Clashes.....

We have now evacuated the Embassy in Tripoli Libya.....as well are telling Americans to get out of the country and to issue a travel warning for going there. So much for BO and his FBI investigation going on there.....huh? What do you think about the wording Kerry is using and of course.....What say ye?


The United States shut down its embassy in Libya on Saturday and evacuated its diplomats to neighboring Tunisia under U.S. military escort amid a significant deterioration in security in Tripoli as fighting intensified between rival militias, the State Department said.

"Due to the ongoing violence resulting from clashes between Libyan militias in the immediate vicinity of the U.S. Embassy in Tripoli, we have temporarily relocated all of our personnel out of Libya," spokeswoman Marie Harf said.

The evacuation was accompanied by the release of a new State Department travel warning for Libya urging Americans not to go to the country and recommending that those already there leave immediately. "The Libyan government has not been able to adequately build its military and police forces and improve security," it said. "Many military-grade weapons remain in the hands of private individuals, including antiaircraft weapons that may be used against civilian aviation."

Speaking Saturday in Paris where he was meeting with other diplomats on the continuing Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Secretary of State John Kerry said the U.S. was temporarily shuttering the embassy because of the "free-wheeling militia violence." "So we are suspending our current diplomatic activities at the embassy — not closing the embassy — but suspending the activities ... ," Kerry said. "We are deeply committed and remain committed to the diplomatic process in Libya."

American personnel at the Tripoli embassy, which had already been operating with limited staffing, left the capital around dawn and traveled by road to neighboring Tunisia, according to Harf. As the evacuation was underway, residents of the city reported in real time on social media that American military aircraft flew overhead while U.S. soldiers escorted a convoy of vehicles out of town. The State Department would not confirm the evacuation until all staffers were safely in Tunisia.....snip~

Oh my.. this isn't good news. We used to live on the same street as the US Embassy and the Russian Embassy.. Poor Libya.. They may never get over Ghaddafi.. I wish they would just return to the Constitution they had under Idris.

 

It's about time we got out...never should have been there in the first place, there is no hope of peace in this area and it NOT our job to save them from themselves.

I am sure this will be used to blame Obama for something.....anything, just like Benghazi.

He gets grief for getting out of harms way, and gets blamed for not getting out.....there is no win.

 

This is too funny. In 2011 Obama sends in the missiles and bombs and gets Gadhaffi kicked out of power in Libya. He does this without even getting Congress to approve it. Then the whole country of Libya gets taken over by Islamic terrorists. In 2012 these terrorists attack the American consultate in Benghazi and kill the American ambassador and three other Americans. Now the whole capital of Libya is so dangerous for Americans that we can't even run an Embassy there. Great job, Obama, you stupid (*)(*)(*)(*)ing idiot!

The only reason this was done is to make sure another Benghazi won't happen in an election season. This shows that Arab Spring so much praised by our media is thriving in Libya. It was much safer under Kaddafi. Who will win in Libya now?

Actually it was praised as a democratic uprising. The peoples voice finally being heard and doing something about it. Then along came the militants who took advantage of the vacuum left behind.

 

Really.....then can you explain why Gadhafi had the backing of most African States. As well as why he was able to keep Terrorists out of Libya. Including any Muslim Brotherhood or any Arabs from trying to take over and run things.

Do you know the reason why the Berbers wont bow down to any Arabs? Do you even know why they do not consider themselves to be Arabs?

You NAILED it. And that's why I also blame nearly every bit of this Obama. What business did he have to go barging into Libya, breaking the War Powers Act, and launching missiles against a country that we were at PEACE with?! Obama kept it up, wasting over a billion dollars' worth of ordinance to effect his dimwit idea of "regime change", and look at it what it has produced!

It gave us Benghazi, and the spectacle of an American ambassador being murdered along with other Americans who tried to rescue him. It also revealed yet more bumbling ineptitude and the willingness of the Obama regime to LIE through their teeth, cooking up the fiction of how it happened because of a Youtube video.

Things are moving along exactly as Obama planned.

 

Your probably exactly right! First Obama gets Gadhaffi pushed out of power and killed. Next he gets the Muslim Brotherhood groups in power. He deliberately ignored his own ambassador and the other people in Benghazi which got all of them killed. And now the capital of Libya is so unsafe that we and our allies have to run to get out or they'll be killed too. Maybe Obama needs to be awarded another Nobel Peace Prize to get his poll ratings back up.

 

And how he mishandled Syria when he did not stand by his red line threat. And Iraq when he just looked away from it after the troops left. We had 5,000 personnel still there in the Green Zone. Maliki was getting rid of all the Sunni's like his VP who he threw in jail and the Sunni military commanders he fired and replaced with less experienced Shiite commanders. You can't tell me all of this crap is just happening on it's own now. Way to coincidental IMO.
